Job description

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This role calls for an experienced pharmacy professional to manage and lead pharmacy operations with a focus on inpatient care, including IV therapy and 340B program management. The ideal candidate will hold Ohio Pharmacist licensure and be ready to step into a leadership role overseeing pharmacy staff, scheduling, medication ordering, sterile compounding, and ensuring compliance with hospital standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as Director of Pharmacy plus Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC), providing leadership and oversight
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and daily pharmacy operations, including narcotic ordering and sterile compounding
  • Provide weekend coverage every fourth weekend with on-call duties starting Friday evening through Monday morning
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in specialty areas such as Emergency Department, Infusion, and Orthopedics
  • Utilize EPIC order entry system and Pyxis automation; training available
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies following recent DNV accreditation

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Ohio Pharmacist licensure required
  • Strong inpatient pharmacy experience with IV and 340B program knowledge
  • Previous director-level experience preferred but leadership ability is essential
  • Familiarity with EPIC and Pyxis systems is a plus; training provided as needed
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills for staff and stakeholder coordination

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 6:00pm
  • Saturday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
  • On-call duty as specified

Additional Details:

  • Staff includes 1 full-time pharmacist and 2 PRN pharmacists, with technician support
  • Dress code is gray scrubs
  • Housing assistance may be available through local cabin coordination
  • Nearest airport is CMH for ease of travel
