Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Director of Project Management to oversee the project management operations for general contracting and self-perform projects. Projects will range from new building construction, expansions/renovations, equipment installation, and various capital construction projects. Knowledge and experience with supporting modifications to existing facilities and new construction projects within the aerospace, automotive, general manufacturing, heavy industrial, power & energy and water & wastewater is desired. The ideal candidate will proactively ensure commercial and technical compliance, collaborate with estimating, project management, field leadership and ownership to align all project details and manage multiple project deliverables. The Director should have a proven track record of successful project delivery, an ability to improve project management practices and substantial team leadership experience with a focus on team development. Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, oversight and strategic alignment of building construction and self-perform specialty trade services
  • Train, develop and implement standard operating processes, tools, templates, policies and metrics
  • Manage day-to-day project management & project engineering execution
  • Implement KPI’s and process improvements
  • Coach and mentor project managers/engineers and share best practices
  • Set annual performance targets and conduct performance reviews
  • Oversee project budgets to ensure accurate job tracking
  • Oversee the change management process
  • Manage risk and issue resolution process
  • Collaborate with divisional teams and managers
  • Drive schedule, safety & quality performance
  • Ensure compliance with owner standards
  • Build relationships with clients, trade partners and suppliers
  • Lead workforce planning, hiring and training initiatives
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of construction management experience
  • 5+ years in a senior leadership role
  • PMP or PE License desired
  • Proven experience with complex project execution
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred
  • Excellent communication skills (verbally & written)
  • Excellent analytical problem solving, organizational and time management skills
  • Skilled in blueprint reading and understanding technical specifications
  • Must be willing to travel occasionally, work from home and handle multiple jobs
  • Software proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Bluebeam, Procore, MS Project and Primavera P6
  • Ability to lead large teams across multiple jobsites
