Job description

HGA is seeking a Project Controls Support professional for positions in West Texas. This role supports client operations across a portfolio of combined cycle projects, with a focus on cost tracking, scheduling, forecasting, and reporting across multiple active sites. The Project Controls Support professional will assist with Owner's Engineer (OE) services for combined cycle (CT/CCGT) power generation projects located in West Texas. These projects are currently in the engineering and construction phases and require strong support in cost, schedule, and performance tracking. The role will partner closely with project management and construction teams to ensure accurate reporting, forecasting, and effective change management throughout the project lifecycle.Key Responsibilities
  • Provide project controls support across a portfolio of 5 combined cycle power projects
  • Support projects located in Gaines County, TX
  • Assist with development, maintenance, and monitoring of:
    • Project schedules (baseline and progress tracking)
    • Cost controls, budgets, and forecasting
  • Track and report on:
    • Project performance metrics
    • Schedule adherence and deviations
    • Cost variances and trends
  • Support change management processes, including:
    • Change order tracking and documentation
    • Impact analysis to cost and schedule
    • Coordinate with EPC contractor and project stakeholders to ensure accurate data collection and reporting
  • Assist with preparation of:
    • Weekly and monthly project reports
    • Forecast updates and variance analysis
    • Participate in project meetings to capture updates and ensure alignment of project controls data
    • Support risk identification and tracking from a cost and schedule perspective
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience in project controls, project coordination, or similar support role on large-scale infrastructure or industrial projects
  • Exposure to power generation, particularly combined cycle (CCGT) or gas turbine projects, preferred
  • Familiarity with:
    • Cost management and forecasting processes
    • Scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project)
  • Strong proficiency in:
    • Excel and data tracking/reporting tools
  • Candidates with relevant experience in petrochemical or similar large-scale industrial environments may be considered in lieu of direct power generation experience.
  • Some travel may be required to project sites
