Note: This position requires individuals to be on-site in Boulder, Colorado 5 days per week. Relocation assistance provided. Work is primarily conducted on an active construction site with heavy equipment and machinery.

We are currently seeking a talented full-time Associate Director, Project Controls for Life Science and Industrial Manufacturing projects to work directly with clients on capital projects. In this pivotal role, you will manage and/ or lead the implementation and delivery of a range of PMO and Project Controls to support commissions.

Responsibilities

  • Managing key assignments, drive best‑in‑class service, and strengthen strategic client and industry relationships.
  • Directing PMO and Project Controls functions, influencing long‑term business strategy
  • Developing, mentoring and mobilizing teams, fostering innovation, knowledge sharing and talent growth across the organization.
  • Directing PMO and Project Controls performance, setting effective frameworks and ensuring full compliance with client and standards.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor, directing teams and stakeholders across all controls, governance and reporting activities.
  • Managing baselines, performance, change, risk and quantitative analysis to achieve program objectives.
  • Developing and mentoring teams, supporting recruitment, capability growth and best‑practice delivery while contributing to net‑zero commitments.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or related field (MS, MBA preferred)
  • Minimum 15+ years of relevant experience working in project controls in the construction industry.
  • Professional membership, (i.e., MRICS/RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent) and moving towards fellowship, or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
  • Proven leadership managing large, cross-functional teams on complex capital programs, with deep expertise within the pharmaceutical, manufacturing or other highly technical sectors.
  • Advanced proficiency in project controls, including value engineering, life cycle costing, and contract frameworks, supported by hands-on experience with enterprise systems like Unifier or Procore.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and commercial acumen, combined with the ability to deliver actionable insights through clear written, verbal, and presentation communication.
  • Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
