Senior Procurement Manager (US Lead)

Reports to: Director of US Site Operations

Location: Piscataway, NJ (Onsite 4 Days with remote flexibility on Fridays).

Compensation: The estimated salary range is $150,000 - $160,000, based on experience.

Job Overview

GenScript, a leading biology research company in rapid expansion phase, is seeking a Senior Procurement Manager. The role focuses on designing strategies for optimal cost control, enhancing vendor management, achieving significant cost savings, and improving procurement sourcing and efficiency. Responsibilities include delivering insights to the executive team, standardizing business methodologies, evaluating procurement processes, and identifying improvement areas. The ideal candidate is able to thrive in a high-volume and fast-paced environment, and has managed a multitude of projects and initiatives. This role will supervise a team of 6 Purchasing Specialists.

Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for service, CapEx and material purchasing for Company;
  • Form, lead and facilitate cross-functional teams as applicable to execute the procurement process and plans;
  • Fulfill daily purchasing task including price negotiation, contact signing, order fulfillment and on-time delivery management;
  • Solve major issues with suppliers in terms of delivery delays, negotiated price, quality made by supplier;
  • Manage supplier performance, maintain good relation with key suppliers, continue to optimize supplier base to meet business needs;
  • Continuously develop and improve processes in purchasing including processes, work instructions etc.;
  • Responsible for implementation of purchasing control policy, working instructions and guidelines for users on how to deploy it;
  • Responsible for coaching team members and take necessary actions to motivate team members.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills

BS degree with majoring in Supply Chain, Business or related. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Purchasing, Operations or Supply Chain background, in a pharmaceutical or CRO environment, or equivalent. Mastery of purchasing system SAP/S2P, experience with implementing an S2P system is preferred. Excellent organizational, negotiation and communication skills. Leadership, high sense of responsibility, self-disciplined and motivated.
