Job description

Role Overview

The Director, Integration supports the operating program management of the Integration Management Office (IMO), with responsibility for coordinating, tracking, and driving execution of post-merger integration workstreams across the combined Pond & ENERCON platform. This role helps translate the executivesโ€™ strategic integration priorities into organized, actionable work across business units, functional leaders, and shared services.

This is a high-visibility role in a PE-backed environment where speed, structure, and follow-through matter. The Director, Integration must be comfortable managing detailed workplans, facilitating cross-functional meetings, identifying risks, and ensuring that workstream owners remain aligned and accountable.

Key Responsibilities

IMO Program Management

  • Support the development and maintenance of the master integration plan, including workstream coordination, dependency mapping, milestone tracking, and escalation protocols.
  • Help establish and maintain the IMO operating rhythm, including weekly status reviews, executive updates, and cross-workstream coordination meetings.
  • Maintain accurate integration trackers and scorecards, ensuring workstream status, risks, decisions, and upcoming milestones are clearly documented.
  • Identify integration blockers and risks proactively, coordinate resolution with workstream leaders, and escalate issues requiring executive attention.

Workstream Coordination (Examples, not limited to)

  • Coordinate integration activities across major functional areas, including IT systems consolidation, HR and total rewards harmonization, finance and reporting alignment, branding and go-to-market, and client and contract continuity.
  • Support the CTOโ€™s AI adoption rollout and the extension of technology programs from Pond to the full combined platform.
  • Work with PDG leadership to support resource model alignment between legacy Pond and ENERCON shared-service structures.
  • Coordinate with BU EVPs, Presidents, and functional leaders to understand business-unit integration needs, track action items, and surface risks.

Stakeholder Management & Communications

  • Prepare integration status updates, meeting materials, action logs, and decision documents for the CTO, IMO leadership, executive steering groups, and other senior stakeholders.
  • Support the development and execution of the integration communications cadence for internal stakeholders, from frontline managers to the senior leadership team.
  • Build productive working relationships across Pond-heritage and ENERCON-heritage teams and help navigate cultural and organizational differences.
  • Serve as a reliable point of contact for workstream leaders and internal stakeholders regarding integration timelines, deliverables, and next steps.

Value Capture & Synergy Tracking

  • Support the CFO, CTO, and integration leadership in tracking integration-related cost and revenue synergies against established objectives.
  • Maintain documentation and reporting materials needed for sponsor, executive, and board updates.
  • Monitor progress against synergy milestones, flag potential delays, and coordinate corrective actions with the appropriate workstream owners.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience

  • 5โ€“12 years of experience, including meaningful involvement in post-merger integration, transformation, program management, or similarly complex cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience in a PE-backed environment is preferred; familiarity with integration governance, sponsor reporting, and value-capture activities is a plus.
  • Experience in engineering, AEC, environmental, technical services, or another project-based professional services environment is a meaningful differentiator.
  • Big Four or boutique advisory experience in PMI, strategy, or transformation is welcome, particularly for candidates seeking to move into an operating role.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex, multi-workstream programs with cross-functional dependencies and senior stakeholder visibility.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong program management discipline, including experience with workplans, status reporting, governance processes, action tracking, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to synthesize information into clear updates, risks, and decision requests for senior leaders.
  • High EQ and cultural fluency, with the ability to build trust across two distinct firm identities and work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Analytical orientation and comfort working with financial information, synergy trackers, operational data, and performance metrics.
  • Strong ownership and follow-through; operates independently, anticipates next steps, and keeps workstreams moving between leadership check-ins.

What Will Make This Person Exceptional

  • They understand where integrations commonly stallโ€”including culture, middle management, IT, systems, and compensationโ€”and help identify issues before they become larger problems.
  • They can communicate effectively with technical professionals, functional leaders, executives, and external advisors.
  • They can manage detailed workstream execution while understanding how individual activities contribute to the broader integration strategy.
  • They bring structure, urgency, and calm judgment to a complex and constantly evolving environment.

Organizational Context

This role reports to the Chief Transformation Officer and works closely with the Integration Management Office, legacy IT leadership, AI program leaders, functional executives, and business-unit leadership.

The Director, Integration does not carry permanent P&L ownership or BU responsibility. Its scope is the integration program itself, with a primary focus on coordination, execution support, reporting, and issue resolution through the platform stabilization horizon. This role offers significant visibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution during a pivotal period in the combined firmโ€™s history.
