Giffels Webster has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Oakland County office located in Birmingham, Michigan. As a Senior Engineer you will work with municipalities aimed at enhancing the quality of life in southeast Michigan.


The ideal candidate will possess the ability to work independently on various engineering projects and assist a wide variety of client types from local municipalities, county governments, and road agencies. You will work in a team environment led by a Project Manager/Senior Project Manager on a variety of tasks.


Typical responsibilities include:

  • Geometrics
  • Grading
  • Pavement design
  • Soil erosion and sediment control
  • Utility (storm sanitary and water) design
  • Stormwater management
  • Traffic plans
  • Details
  • Record drawings and specifications
  • Prepare permit applications and cost estimates
  • Attend meetings
  • Conduct field visits
  • Perform construction administration tasks

Requirements:


Minimum qualifications:

  • You have an engineering degree from an ABET accredited university or equivalent amount of applicable experience.
  • At least 5 years of Civil Engineering experience
  • Must have experience in AutoCAD software
  • Exposure to Municipal and/or Private Development projects

Preferred qualifications:

  • PE licensure in Michigan (or seeking to obtain)
  • Experience in Civil3D
  • Experience with water and sanitary design
  • Experience working with MDOT Local Agency Programs
