In this role you will:

  • Leadership

    • Have full responsibility for multiple engineering teams including ownership of software development and delivery, SDLC, software quality, and people management

    • Own alignment of teams to business and strategic goals

    • Continue to build and develop your teams to meet the future needs of the organization

    • Perform resource forecasting and planning to meet product release plans

    • Handle management and governance of incidents, problems, and changes including escalations, meeting SLAs, and driving best practice across teams

    • Conduct performance reviews & appraisals

    • Mentor engineers and leaders within your department

  • Teams & People

    • Inspire a team and motivate people around a shared vision

    • Have excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills

    • Work closely with Tech Lead(s) to develop and grow team members

    • Manage, focus and ensure team execution and delivery

    • Provide team/project status and metrics

  • Communication & Collaboration

    • Be a central point of contact for key stakeholders across the business, including planning, prioritization, and estimation to ensure business needs are met

    • Cascade communication - foster and ensure relevant communication of information necessary to teams

    • Provide external communication about team execution and delivery status and metrics

    • Be the primary liaison with Product / Product Owners and other stakeholders

We're looking for someone with:

  • 8+ years of software development experience, 5 years of which should be at Senior Engineering Manager level

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, agile environment

  • Experience leading teams with engineering practices including DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing and infrastructure as code

  • Hands on experience with large scale, low latency, high performance distributed applications

  • Experience with Hadoop, Kafka, Scylla, Cassandra or other scale data-based technologies

  • Experience with Rust, Go, Spark or other similar technologies

  • Experience working with distributed teams across multiple time zones

In NY, the base salary range for this role is $230,000 - $250,000.
Actual compensation will be determined based on location, experience, skills, and internal equity.

This role is also eligible for:
