Job description


The physical security operations team is the primary interface with all clients and ensures that client needs and expectations are met with high quality, industry standard programs and services. Oracle is now looking for a senior security professional to join our team. Oracle utilizes internal owned data center locations and third-party external data centers managed by co-location service providers. This position will be responsible for the leadership and development of teams, products and services within the Global Physical Security (GPS) operations line of business, with specialized functional expertise in the area of hyperscale data center operational security, guard force management, crisis management programs, risk assessments, incident response and investigations. The qualified candidate will report directly to the Senior Director, Global Security Operations.
Responsibilities
Provide operational direction and oversight so that the GPS strategic initiatives in relation to the data center operational security program are implemented consistently. These include, but not limited to:
  • Provide direction and hands on management of physical security.
  • Manage the capital and operational budgets related to security services and programs.
  • Incident response and investigation.
  • Crisis response specific to GPS and core member of the Crisis Management Team.
  • Project Management Team member for new data center builds, conversions and restructuring in respect of security design and regime operation.
  • Develop and implement business plans to ensure continued optimal performance and excellent customer service throughout the region.
  • Manage partner/vendor relations within the assigned region including security guard force management at hyperscale DCs.
  • Work in close liaison with the Global Security Operations Centers (GSOC), Security Systems, Risk & Investigations, Events, Crisis Management and Executive Protection teams.
  • Liaison with internal Oracle partners to achieve objectives, develop new programs and leverage resources for program and service delivery.
  • Liaison with external industry resources (e.g. law enforcement, military, emergency responders, industry peers & associations, etc.)
  • Partnership with Oracle Lines of Business and external audit regulatory bodies to ensure physical security compliance with diverse auditory requirements including but not limited to ISO, SOC1 &2, NIST, FedRamp, HIPPA and PCI.
  • Customer Service-providing quality advice to Oracle employees on all aspects of Physical Security as it applies to data center security.

Working with 3rd party security service providers maintains oversight for the recruitment, selection, orientation, training, development, and retention of high caliber security guard force staff.
Maintains recognized industry standard physical security best practices by ensuring a positive, professional environment in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures; ensures that staff members understand and comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
Prepare and manage the hyperscale data center security operations program budget.
Performs additional functions as directed by the Senior Director, Global Security Operations as necessary to achieve assigned business objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 15 years of industrial security experience, combined with a minimum of 7 years of senior management and leadership experience, ideally within a physical security/data center operational environment.
  • Strong understanding of industry-specific legislations and compliance requirements as they apply to physical security operations in general and specific to data center security.
  • Experience of crisis management as it relates to physical security at the corporate level.
  • A working knowledge of various security technology resources including access control and video systems. Proficient with all basic Microsoft computer software programs and communications techniques.
  • Ability to communicate and articulate with a high level of proficiency in both the written and verbal format at all levels up to and including Corporate Executive leadership.
  • Adept at customer service skills.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY, IMPACT OF DECISIONS AND DEGREE OF SUPERVISION:
  • The Director, Hyperscale Data Center Security Operations' scope of responsibility will be Campus in nature but may grow to include other regions as the Oracle Hyperscale DC program expands.
  • Decision impact is high, and the degree of direct supervision is minimal. This is a director-level position with a high degree of responsibility and operational impact on the business function. The qualified candidate will report directly to the GPS Senior Director of Global Security Operations.

PROCESSES AND METHODOLOGY USED TO PERFORM JOB:
This position will develop operational strategy, lead collaborative teams and resources to successful performance. Conduct analysis of business needs and identify programs & services required to meet those needs.

  • Ability to show experience in above required essential functions is mandatory.
  • BS/BA Degree desirable but not mandatory.
  • Industry certifications are preferred, but not required.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $126,200 to $264,100 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
