Job Responsibilities:

Mission of Position:

The Director, Corporate Quality North America (NA) is responsible for establishing and implementing a corporate quality assurance system and team that promotes customer satisfaction and that positively impacts the company's financial performance. Will lead the NA Corporate Quality Team, ensure compliance to related systems and work with internal Customers to ensure continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote a culture of Teamwork, Quality Improvement and of Cost reduction thru continuous improvement, partnering with the Regional PE, ME, PM, AQE, Warranty & SQD.
  • Act as a change agent, constantly challenging the Status Quo, innovating to drive the Enterprise Approach of Building Quality in Station and Zero defect in everything we do.
  • Develop and execute robust 5 Year Plan that will lead to External Quality results that dominate the Industry at internal Cost that is meeting Benchmark.
  • Execute global common standard work to accomplish stretch KPI Improvement Goals.
  • Lead all Regional Group related AQE/ Supplier Escalations / Warranty/ problem solving activities and responsible for disciplined APQP execution - Launch On Time with Quality!
  • Assure a lessons learned and read across system that cycles through the lifetime of the program from DFMEA to Warranty to APQP of new programs
  • Assure a warranty reduction plan to reduced YOY warranty and assures quick response and closure of issues
  • Support troubled and escalated suppliers assuring systems and controls are in place and being followed
  • Lead the regional AQE, SQD and Warranty teams to support the NA manufacturing sites.
  • Follow Magna's Code of Conduct and Ethics and related compliance policies
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Strong leader and Team player with effective written and verbal communication skills who acts as a change agent, challenging the status quo.
  • Minimum ten (10) years' work experience required in Manufacturing/Quality/Engineering environment. Ideal candidate will have significant regional and global Leadership experience in either Program Management or Quality Role.
  • Business or Technical Bachelor's degree required.
  • High level of detailed knowledge of Engineering, Program Management & Quality System and associated OEM standards. Must be able to lead, teach and coach both, Head Quarters and Shop Floor environment.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills; i.e., 5 Why Analysis, 8 Discipline Approach, Shainin, Six Sigma etc.
  • Solid understanding of assembly and machining processes, Proficient in data collection, analysis and presentation.
  • Position will require both, domestic and international Travel.
