THE ROLE

The Facility Technician is a part-time, event-based position responsible for supporting the maintenance, general cleaning, and setup and breakdown of event spaces at SNHU Arena. This role plays a key part in ensuring the arena remains safe, operational, and event-ready at all times.

The Facility Technician assists with the upkeep and reliable operation of the building, grounds, and event infrastructure. Responsibilities include performing general facility repairs, maintaining interior and exterior surfaces, supporting event conversions, and assisting with grounds maintenance to ensure a clean, functional, and welcoming environment for guests, clients, performers, and staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, gates, fencing, doors, plumbing fixtures, lighting, and irrigation systems.

  • Conduct safety inspections and respond promptly to maintenance requests.

  • Repair or replace worn surfaces including flooring, drywall, fencing, and ceiling tiles.

  • Perform minor carpentry, painting, wall patching, plumbing repairs, re-lamping, and basic electrical repairs.

  • Troubleshoot facility maintenance issues and complete repairs as needed.

  • Provide minor service to facility air conditioning systems.

  • Assist in operating and maintaining computerized fire alarm systems, field equipment, and lighting systems.

  • Complete work orders in a timely manner and summarize daily tasks in support of the Director of Operations.

  • Follow preventative maintenance, energy management, and emergency management programs in accordance with facility standards.

  • Notify the Director of Operations of equipment needing repair or low supply inventory.

  • Support event setup and breakdown, including seating configurations, room setups, signage placement, and power drops.

  • Perform event-related maintenance tasks to meet client requirements.

  • Maintain cleanliness and functionality of shared spaces including restrooms, suites, concourses, and walkways.

  • Assist with snow removal, including shoveling, spreading materials, and snowblowing to maintain safe surfaces and walkways.

  • Perform landscaping and lawn care duties, including operating mowers, aerators, and weed trimmers.

  • Maintain exterior surfaces to ensure safe guest access.

  • Safely operate power tools including pressure washers, drills, and saws.

  • Follow all safety policies and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.

  • Identify and mitigate potential hazards within the facility.

  • Troubleshoot urgent facility issues and escalate to specialty vendors when necessary.

  • Participate in on-call, weekend, holiday, and event coverage as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all Legends Global policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; providing day-to-day guidance and oversight; addressing operational concerns; and escalating employee relations matters, performance issues, and disciplinary actions to management as appropriate. This position does not have responsibility for interviewing, hiring, performance appraisals, compensation decisions, or formal disciplinary actions.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Previous facility maintenance or building operations experience preferred.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.

  • Ability to operate maintenance equipment and power tools safely.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, fast-paced event environment.
