Job description

A hospital in Las Cruces, NM is seeking a senior-level Director of Risk Management, Quality, and Medical Staff. This is an on-site leadership role responsible for overseeing risk management, quality initiatives, and medical staff operations. The position offers partial relocation assistance; visa sponsorship is not available.

The role. This director-level position leads the hospital's risk management, quality, and medical staff functions, ensuring regulatory compliance and effective oversight across these interrelated disciplines. The incumbent will apply clinical and operational expertise to identify, assess, and mitigate institutional risk while driving quality improvement initiatives. The role requires regular on-site presence at the Las Cruces facility and does not involve travel.

What we're looking for.

  • Active New Mexico RN license or multistate (compact) RN license
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school
  • Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 3 years in a Director or Manager role
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) certification preferred upon hire; required within 3 years of employment
  • Risk Management, Quality, and Medical Staff experience required
  • Preferred: Prior acute healthcare risk management experience (may substitute for the leadership experience requirement)
  • Preferred: Experience working in a for-profit hospital setting
  • Preferred: Previous Director-level experience

Compensation. $120,000 - $150,000 per year
