At Westminster Village we are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse who is ready to live out our three values of acting with love and respect in all that we do, doing the right thing, and going above and beyond!
As an AL nurse, you will be responsible for delivering and supervising nursing care and services to residents in Assisted Living. Responding to medical needs of residents, monitoring care delivery, assuring that established standards of care are followed, etc.

We are seeking an RN/LPN available on a part-time basis for our 2nd shift (3p-11:30p) including every other weekend and some holidays with 40 hours in a pay period. Westminster Village offers a competitive wage with an annual increase. If hired as an RN, the wage scale is $40 to $45 an hour. If hired as an LPN, the wage scale is $30.91 to $32.91 an hour and you will be in a union eligible position. Apply now for immediate consideration!
Job Duties:

  • Assists the Director of Assisted Living with the 24-hour accountability for resident safety and care.
  • Performs direct patient care to residents according to physician's orders and in conformance with the recognized nursing procedures, established standards, and administrative policy.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Follows the plan of care for each resident within the guidelines of Assisted Living.
  • Works in collaboration with Physicians, Pharmacists, Dietitian, Therapists, and Activities as well as families and other authorized persons and disciplines involved in the care of the resident to facilitate communication and execution of the total plan of care.
  • Observes and encourages infections control measures in accordance with facility policy as well as the rules and regulations governing infection control practices.
  • Observe and promote the facility goal of "Restraint Free Environment" and assists others in finding alternative measures.
  • Observes and promotes the facility goal of "Limited Lift Environment".
  • Protects patient confidentiality in all aspects of care and all communication of information, computer communication, telephone communication, and direct communication MUST be handled in strict confidence according to the laws which govern Patient Confidentiality.
  • Performs and documents assessments of residents, including behavior monitoring, physical assessment, and response to specific medications, etc.
  • Assists physician in examination of resident or with treatments being performed by the physician.
  • Responds to emergency calls to the Village or Willows if needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Assisted Living or Memory Care Coordinator.
  • Familiarize oneself with location and use of firefighting equipment, alarms, and disaster procedures.
  • Attend educational meetings planned for this position.
  • Abides by all facility policies including but not limited to the Abuse Policy.
  • Assists with daily staffing in the absence of scheduler and/or Director of Assisted Living.

Requirements
High School Diploma/GED and Nurses Training Program. Must have current Illinois State License for Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical. Previous nursing experience in a geriatric setting is preferred. Current CPR certification is required.
