Description

Partners globally and leads the North America delivery of  Product Risk Control Services to improve underwriting results through development of LOB and discipline strategies that supports development of expertise, risk improvement,risk retention strategies, and underwriting risk assessment. Leads team that identifies, develops, and partners to execute high-level Risk Control strategies, services, and programs with an emphasis on impacting major areas of risk by industry and or discipline. Accountable

for building a high-performance culture, continuous process improvement, thought leadership, impact, and outcomes. Leads the quality and training initiatives

across RCS to enhance the technical expertise of the Risk Control team.  Ensures team aligns closely with Product, Claims, Actuarial, OOU, Field, Virtual, Small Commercial and Dedicated RCS teams and supports global product boards and UW.  Responsible for technical thought leadership and continuous improvement of technical delivery internally and to clients.  Accountable for Product evolution to a more global, outward facing, and AI-enabled organization.

Responsibilities: 

1. Drives team engagement, including cross functional discipline collaboration.

2. Actively drives strategic planning process with our market partners, maximizing impact on customer risk of loss as well as market differentiation with brokers.

3. Develops and leads relationships with key underwriting market segment leaders to operationalize key strategies.

4. Ensures alignment across disciplines in technical/consultative skills, service strategy needs, and internal quality standards.

5. Works with team to identify country-wide skills gaps and ensures Product Directors build curriculum, skills and course work to support.

6. Ensures disciplines have effective triage guidance to support Onsite and Virtual capabilities.

7. Ensures RCS talent is supported for emerging risk and evolving business needs to meet Market Partner strategic objectives.

8. Recruits a high-performing, results-oriented staff.  Fosters internal talent mobility to build deeper talent pipelines that result in greater diversification of staff.

9. Ensure appropriate compliance with all legislation, corporate policies, and programs.

10. Leads and directs project teams as assigned.

11. Employs regular coaching and mentoring to cultivate continuous technical skill-set improvement for the staff.

12. Achieves the above with a country-wide span of control over multiple disciplines/industries.

13. Drives thought leadership and market relevance building for the future and leveraging AI for efficiency and innovation. 

14. Transforms product and expertise within Risk Control to unlock and exponentially improve expertise.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated leadership and growth mindset that inspires teams, drives accountability, and delivers outcomes to market partners. 
  • Proven ability to influence across the organization, within Risk Control, North America, and Global partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply strategic vision to stay current on issues impacting the team, including industry and marketplace trends, organizational direction, key initiatives, etc.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Risk Control/Risk Engineering, insurance operations, legal, and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of risk control principles, practices, and services for large or complex clients as they relate to performance, profitability, TCOR, and ROI.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and use technology to improve operations. 
  • Other demonstrated skills include managerial courage, thought leadership, strong business acumen, diverse and inclusive leadership, and the ability to inspire/motivate others.
  • Variances in experience addressed and acquired through a graduate degree in a related field and/or professional certification in one or more of the following areas: CSP, ARM, CRM, CFPS, CPCU, CIH, or CPE, or related experience.
  • Proven strong ability to effectively collaborate and influence others to get work done through front-line managers, project teams, individuals, and peers.
  • Has advanced skills in strategic and operational planning, leadership and relationship building, consulting and customer service, and written and oral communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute, guide, and enable highly technical-related functions and activities such as effective use of data to support ROI analysis, customer process changes, engineering controls, loss source analyses, and strategic project planning.  
  • Bachelor`s degree required.
  • Advanced degree preferred plus 8+ years of related experience, plus a minimum of 5 years in progressively more responsible management positions with exposure to project planning, technical service consulting, and customer relationship management, or commensurate experience.
