About the RoleInteger Technologies is currently hiring a Director of Business Development – UxV to join the strategy and business development team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading Integer's business development efforts related to unmanned systems, with an emphasis on the maritime domain, including the generation and capture of new opportunities, communication with customers and sponsors, and management for our portfolio of unmanned systems research, products and services. You will work directly with the Chief Strategy Officer, and the broader Integer leadership team, on the strategic planning and tactical pursuit of growth opportunities for that portfolio. Integer is an applied research and engineering firm that works to transition science and technology research into prototype systems and fieldable products for the Department of Defense. As such, the Director of Business Development – UxV must have prior experience interfacing with technical and administrative leaders in our core defense sectors. Especially important will be relationships within, and understanding of OUSD, DIU, the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), including Program Executive Offices (PEOs), Program Management Offices (PMSs) and Warfare Centers, and other Navy and DoD offices responsible for naval programs. Additionally, this role requires relationships with potential industry partners in the UxV space. An ideal candidate for the role has a deep understanding of the existing and prospective customer base, the current or planned programmatic and technical roadmaps, and is cognizant of the competitive landscape for UxVs.A key aspect of this role is the translation of corporate strategic objectives into tactical business development initiatives and successful capture efforts. Primary ResponsibilitiesLead and grow a portfolio of business development and capture efforts related to unmanned systems. Work directly with Integer leadership to identify and pursue business development opportunities and follow those through capture, to maintain and grow Integer's business development pipeline.Leverage existing relationships with government and industry customers, clients, and potential teammates to develop new and successful business development and capture opportunities. Lead the development of new bids, proposals, white papers, or other efforts required to compete for new funding or contracts with government and industry customers. Work with technical teams and Integer leadership to develop win themes and discriminators for Integer's portfolio, write and review bid documents, and track bid schedules to ensure timely submissions.Monitor the market to track potential emerging needs, changing market landscapes, and new funding or contract opportunities. Communicate Integer's value to clients and customers. The Director of Business Development - UxV must project Integer's values, convey insights about Integer's technical capabilities and accomplishments, and articulate our strategy for transforming research into products and capabilities for the Department of Defense. Work with Integer's technical team to inform UxV research and development and product development efforts based on insight from customer interactions.Core RequirementsMust be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Top Secret Clearance.Bachelor's degree in relevant field.7+ years of experience relevant to the job duties outlined above.Demonstrated experience leading business development and capture efforts in the UxV space. Existing relationships with unmanned systems stakeholders and potential customers in NAVSEA, Department of Defense, and relevant industry customers.An understanding of the current unmanned systems' competitive landscape, particularly in the maritime domain. This includes unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) and unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs).An ability to speak authoritatively on complex technical concepts. Integer's business model relies on conveying the value of early-stage research to potential customers.An understanding of the Department of Defense's UxV strategy, mission capability gaps, and future needs.Experience writing and reviewing bid packages for federal customers.Ability to travel for customer meetings, partner meetings, conferences, and other events.Additional Desired QualificationsActive Top Secret Clearance.Business development success in the UxV space at a small to medium sized business with an R&D foundation. Advanced degree in engineering or similar relevant technical field.Experience working with, and relationships within, the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU). Existing relationships and/or experience with current and future Navy UxS operational communities. Experience developing business development opportunities to sell services and deliver products related to research products.
