Director of OperationsBoys & Girls Club of the Big Country
Reports To: CEO
Employment Status: Full-time
FLSA Classification: Exempt
Primary Office: B&GC Administrative Office
Travel: Local and occasional area travel
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., with occasional evenings and weekends
Position Summary
The Director of Operations oversees the day-to-day operations of the Boys & Girls Club of the Big Country, ensuring that programs, facilities, and staff operate efficiently and in alignment with the Club's mission and strategic goals. This position supports operational excellence, staff effectiveness, and the overall delivery of high-quality services to youth, families, and the community.
Success in this position is measured by the efficient operation of Club sites, effective staff support, strong program and facility management, and the consistent delivery of safe, high-quality services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee Club programs and services to ensure high-quality delivery and compliance with policies.
  • Monitor program performance, outcomes, and youth engagement metrics.
  • Identify opportunities for program improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure safety, security, and well-being of youth across Club sites.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of Club facilities, including maintenance, safety, and compliance.
  • Oversee space utilization and site resources to maximize efficiency.
  • Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and partners as needed.
  • Ensure emergency preparedness and risk management procedures are in place and followed.
  • Supervise and support site directors, program staff, and administrative personnel.
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of staff.
  • Promote a positive, equitable workplace culture aligned with Club values.
  • Address performance management, employee relations, and retention initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and leadership team to support strategic goals.
  • Align operational processes with organizational priorities and mission.
  • Contribute to operational planning, budget preparation, and organizational improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as a representative of the Club at community events and with stakeholders as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Education, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of leadership experience in operations, program management, or nonprofit administration.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple sites, programs, and staff effectively.
  • Commitment to the mission, values, and youth-focused work of the Boys & Girls Club.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a nonprofit, youth-serving, or community-based organization.
  • Experience managing facilities, staff development, or multi-site operations.
  • Experience supporting operational systems, compliance, or performance improvement initiatives.

Working Conditions

Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required for travel between sites and organizational activities. The position may require sitting, standing, walking, and the ability to lift and carry light materials related to operations and events.
Compensation
This position offers a salary range of $60,000 - $68,000 per year, with eligibility for a performance-based bonus upon successful achievement of key goals and objectives.
