Job description

The Director of Product Support - Material Handling provides leadership and direction for Brandt's parts and service support functions.  Responsible for leading a team of Regional Customer Support Sales Managers and growing Material Handling parts and service sales. As a leader of our team for Product Support Sales, the successful candidate must have a proven track record in sales management, be dedicated to outstanding customer service, be well organized, and capable of leading a highly motivated team. The ideal candidate will have a relevant combination of education and experience along with a proven track record in the material handling product support business.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES

As a key player in the growth and development of the product support program, the Director of Product Support Sales will lead a team of Regional Customer Support Sales Managers (RCSSM) to develop and execute regional sales strategies and key objectives for their regions. This position will ensure our RCSSMs are held accountable for product support sales growth and customer engagement. 

Sales Process

  • Own overall Strategy and Annual Business plans with objectives to achieve sales and margin growth.
  • Manage Sales Processes such as Call reporting, CRM, and target setting.
  • Establish key KPI’s for CSA’s and measure on a regular basis.
  • Analyze and implement proper coverage for the region.
  • Engage and support in large Fleet accounts.
  • Analyze Reports to provide insight and feedback to guide performance of CSA’s and branches.
  • Support in development of overall Parts and Service Sales strategy.
  • Monitor CSA incentive program to ensure it is effective.
  • Implement comprehensive succession plan for RCSSMs and CSAs.
  • Identify and implement Best Practices across the Regions.
  • Market Intelligence on competition, customers, and segment trends.
  • Analyze sales and margin data to identify opportunities.

Required Skills
  • 10+ years of experience in Sales, Marketing, or Industry
  • Strong Leadership skills
  • A drive to expand the knowledge base to fully understand corporate objectives.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to work well under time pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship building skills to drive results through motivation and influence.
  • Sales management and the ability to drive the sales process from inception to close.
  • Strong industry expertise and knowledge in the heavy equipment business, specifically in the areas of repair and maintenance
  • Ability to build strong customer relationships, maintain relationships with key customers at all levels including executive-level managers.
  • Ability to recruit, train, and motivate a team to pursue and grow the business.
  • Be creative, a self-starter, team player, fast learner, detail oriented, and conscientious with a drive to “win.”
  • Ability to travel as needed.  2 weeks per month.
