Job Overview:

The Temporary Valets will fill-in for absent valet and perform valet assigned jobs as needed. Valets should be available to work at Belmont and Saratoga as needed. 

Essential Functions:

Ensure that the proper weights are assigned to each horse in each race.
Bring the saddle to the paddock
Assist the trainer in the saddling of the horse
After the race assist the jockey in unsaddling the horse
Return the saddle to the jock's room after the saddle and the jockey are weighed by the clerk of scales
Generally facilitate and expedite the functioning of the jockey's room
Assist the jockey in the upkeep/maintenance of their equipment and other matters

Qualifications:

- General horsemanship
- Knowledge of racing
- Ability to work a racing schedule
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment indoors and outdoors

Summary of Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

Continuously movement throughout the day.

Pay Range / Salary: $18.75 per hour
