The Director of Finance will be responsible for directing and overseeing all aspects of the financial, compliance, administration, tax, and legal activities of the company, which has two locations: the main production location in Fargo, ND, which houses most of the company's functions, and our sales and service location in Apex, NC. The primary location for the Director Finance will be in Fargo, ND.

Your role in our team
  • You will direct the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reporting, tax returns, and governmental reports, and oversee the monthly close process.
  • You will develop high-quality financial forecasts based on business projections and compare actual results to budgets and forecasts, making adjustments as needed.
  • You will lead the financial planning process, recommend improvements to current methods, and define and maintain cost center and internal work order structures.
  • You will manage the department heads of Accounting, Controlling, and IT, and work closely with other department leaders to monitor performance and make strategic recommendations.
  • You will analyze operations to identify opportunities for reorganization, downsizing, or elimination.
  • You will partner with the President of Körber Pharma Inc., the German Group EVP/CFO, and executive leadership to coordinate strategic planning, forecasting, performance management, and priority setting, serving as a trusted sparring partner.
  • You will evaluate business case opportunities for expansion into new product areas and lead strategic initiatives such as software implementations and ERP enhancements.
  • You will manage compliance and legal matters, cash flow, banking relationships, working capital optimization, tax management, and transfer pricing.
  • You will review KPIs regularly and initiate actions to ensure agility and sustained business performance.
Your profile
  • You have a B.S. degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance; a Master's degree in Finance, MBA, and/or CPA is preferred.
  • You have 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience.
  • You have a minimum of two years of manufacturing accounting experience.
  • You have strong knowledge of accrual-based accounting principles.
  • You have experience ensuring accurate financial reporting under U.S. GAAP and IFRS/HGB.
  • You have a solid understanding of work-in-process (WIP) accounting.
  • You have experience with job costing and/or project-based cost accounting.
  • You have excellent management and supervisory skills.
  • You have strong analytical and organizational abilities.
  • You have proficiency with database systems and accounting software applications.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • You have the ability to support cross-cultural collaboration and promote transparent communication.
  • You have ERP system knowledge and hands-on experience; SAP experience is a strong plus.
