The role is accountable for growing engineered sales opportunities, developing technical sales talent, influencing project specifications early in the design cycle, and partnering with field sales and product teams to deliver profitable growth across the Lennox commercial portfolio.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans that increase revenue, profitability, market share, and specification growth across rooftop, VRF, and applied HVAC product lines.
  • Build and lead a high-performing engineered sales organization focused on increasing Lennox's Basis of Design (BOD) position within the consulting engineering community.
  • Develop long-term relationships with consulting engineers, specifying firms, design-build contractors, mechanical contractors, building owners, architects, developers, and facility management organizations to influence HVAC system design and equipment selection.
  • Drive specifications for Lennox commercial products, including packaged rooftop equipment, VRF systems, dedicated outdoor air systems (DOAS), air handlers, chillers, controls, and other applied HVAC solutions.
  • Partner closely with District Sales, National Accounts, Product Management, Marketing, Engineering, and Commercial Sales Support to convert specifications into awarded business.
  • Identify market opportunities and develop strategic initiatives that increase Lennox's specification share in new construction, retrofit, replacement, healthcare, education, industrial, retail, hospitality, and commercial office segments.
  • Lead technical discussions regarding HVAC system design, energy efficiency, sustainability, electrification, decarbonization, controls integration, IAQ, and building performance.
  • Recruit, coach, mentor, and develop a technically proficient engineered sales team while creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, and customer-first execution.
  • Review pricing strategies, project opportunities, sales agreements, and commercial risks to maximize profitability while delivering customer value.
  • Deliver technical presentations, continuing education seminars, lunch-and-learns, customer training, and product demonstrations to engineering firms and contractor partners.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, emerging technologies, building codes, incentive programs, and specification trends to proactively position Lennox for growth.
  • Collaborate with Product Management to communicate market feedback and influence future product development and commercialization strategies.
  • Represent Lennox professionally across industry associations, engineering organizations, customer events, and trade shows.
  • A passion for growing Lennox's presence within the engineering community and increasing our position as the Basis of Design across commercial projects.
  • The ability to influence project decisions early in the design cycle, creating long-term specification advantages that convert into profitable sales.
  • Deep technical credibility across rooftop, VRF, and applied HVAC systems combined with strong commercial business acumen.
  • A collaborative leadership style that develops people, removes barriers, and aligns engineering, product management, field sales, and operations around customer success.
  • A strategic mindset focused on expanding market share through specification leadership, customer engagement, and innovative HVAC solutions.
  • A commitment to delivering industry-leading customer experiences while positioning Lennox as the preferred commercial HVAC partner for consulting engineers, contractors, and building owners.

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Significant experience in commercial HVAC engineered sales, applied systems, specification sales, technical sales leadership, or commercial HVAC sales management.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC applications including packaged rooftop equipment, VRF systems, applied equipment, controls, ventilation, and building automation systems.

  • Proven leadership experience developing high-performing technical sales organizations while coaching and mentoring engineering-focused sales professionals.
  • Strong financial and business acumen with experience evaluating project profitability, pricing strategy, contract terms, and investment decisions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and executive relationship-building skills.
  • Experience utilizing CRM platforms, specification tracking tools, Microsoft Office, and project management software.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams while balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced commercial sales environment.
