POSITION DESCRIPTION – DIRECTOR/SENIOR DIRECTOR, PROCESSING

POSITION OVERVIEW

POSITION SUMMARY

The Director / Senior Director, Processing is responsible for establishing and leading Eldorado Gold’s global processing strategy across all operating sites and development projects. As a processing leader within the Company this role provides enterprise-wide technical leadership, governance, and strategic direction to ensure processing performance technology adoption, capital investment decisions, and operational standards support the Company’s long-term business strategy. to optimize plant performance, improve metallurgical recovery and throughput, and establish best practices across the portfolio.

Reporting to the Vice President, Technical Services, the Director/Senior Director serves as the senior corporate subject matter expert on mineral processing and metallurgical performance, providing senior leadership and executive-level advice on processing risks, opportunities, and investment priorities. The role develops and maintains the Company's processing governance framework, technical standards, and operating philosophies while ensuring consistent application across the portfolio.

The Director / Senior Director provides functional leadership to all Heads of Processing across Eldorado Gold's operations through a dotted-line reporting relationship, establishing technical priorities, capability development plans, succession strategies, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role works closely with Operations, Projects, Exploration, Technical Services, and Executive Leadership to optimize value creation throughout the mining value chain and support the successful delivery of growth initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Director / Senior Director, Processing will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

Strategic Leadership & Governance

• Develop and execute the Company's long-term processing strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, operational priorities, growth opportunities, and sustainability commitments.
• Serve as the Company's senior subject matter expert for mineral processing and metallurgical performance across the portfolio.
• Advise the senior leadership and the Executive Leadership Team on processing-related risks, opportunities, emerging technologies, and investment priorities.
• Ensure processing considerations are integrated into annual operating plans, long-range business plans, and corporate strategic planning processes.
• Establish and maintain the corporate processing governance framework, technical standards, engineering practices, operating philosophies, and decision-making processes.
• Provide technical review, recommendations, and approvals within the scope of delegated authority for processing design standards, operating philosophies, and significant process changes.
• Lead portfolio-wide technical reviews to drive operational excellence, risk mitigation, and value creation.

Functional Leadership & Organizational Capability

• Provide functional leadership to Heads of Processing across the portfolio through a dotted-line reporting relationship, ensuring alignment with corporate priorities and technical standards.
• Support the development and implementation of technical priorities, workforce capability plans, succession strategies, and leadership development initiatives for the processing function.
• Foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across operations and projects.
• Mentor and develop processing leaders and technical specialists to strengthen organizational capability and succession readiness.

Operational Performance & Technical Excellence

• Provide corporate leadership and technical oversight for all mineral processing operations across the global portfolio.
• Drive recovery optimization initiatives through metallurgical analysis, process improvements, operational excellence programs, and implementation of best practices.
• Lead throughput optimization programs to maximize plant capacity, reliability, productivity, and operational efficiency.
• Provide technical expertise across all processing disciplines, including crushing, grinding, flotation, leaching, dewatering, water treatment, and associated process circuits.
• Provide expert guidance on flotation performance, reagent strategies, circuit optimization, process troubleshooting, and metallurgical performance improvement.
• Establish portfolio-wide performance metrics, benchmarking programs, and technical review processes to support continuous improvement and operational consistency.
• Partner with General Managers, Operations, Processing, and Technical Services teams to achieve production, recovery, and cost objectives including evaluation of alternative reagents and consumables

Capital Projects, Growth & Corporate Development

• Provide processing leadership and technical oversight for major capital projects, expansions, commissioning activities, debottlenecking initiatives, and operational readiness programs.
• Review and endorse processing aspects of feasibility studies, project development activities, and major capital investment proposals.
• Provide technical recommendations supporting capital allocation decisions, investment approvals, and Board submissions.
• Support technical due diligence, acquisitions, development projects, and strategic growth opportunities from a processing perspective.
• Plan, review, and oversee metallurgical testwork programs supporting geometallurgical modelling, process development, and project advancement.
• Collaborate with geology, mine engineering, maintenance, project development, and technical services teams to optimize value across the mining value chain.

Innovation, Technology & Sustainability

• Evaluate and champion emerging technologies, digital solutions, and industry best practices to improve safety, productivity, recovery, sustainability, and business performance.
• Identify and lead strategic initiatives that enhance processing efficiency, reduce operational risk, and support long-term competitive advantage.
• Support water treatment and environmental performance initiatives, including flowsheet development, reagent optimization, and sustainable processing practices.
• Provide executive recommendations regarding technology adoption, innovation investments, and strategic technical partnerships.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering, Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline; Master's degree is considered an asset.
• Professional engineering designation or eligibility for registration is considered an asset.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in mineral processing within the mining industry, including leadership of large-scale processing operations.
• Deep technical expertise in flotation and gold processing, with demonstrated success optimizing recovery and plant throughput.
• Demonstrated success leading multi-site or enterprise-wide technical initiatives and delivering measurable operational and business outcomes.
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and lead through collaboration rather than direct authority.
• Strong understanding of technical governance, risk management, metallurgical accounting, process control, and operational excellence methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to lead geographically dispersed technical teams and influence through collaboration in a matrix reporting environment.
• Experience developing technical talent, succession plans, and leadership capability across a global organization
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills
• Ability to travel nationally or internationally; the expected travel requirement is up to 30% per year.

The anticipated base salary for this opportunity is between $195,500 and $275,000, reflecting the potential for appointment at either the Director or Senior Director level. The applicable salary range and level of appointment will be determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, competencies and scope of expertise, while also taking into consideration internal equity. Actual starting salary is generally positioned between the minimum and midpoint of the applicable salary range, with progression beyond the midpoint typically reflecting greater experience, qualifications and demonstrated performance in the role.
