Job description

Overview
Central Maine Healthcare is an integrated healthcare delivery system serving 400,000 people living in central, western and Midcoastal Maine. CMH's hospital facilities include Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Bridgton Hospital and Rumford Hospital. CMH also supports Central Maine Medical Group, a primary and specialty care practice organization. Other system services include the Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute, a regional trauma program, LifeFlight of Maine's southern Maine base, the Central Maine Comprehensive Cancer Center and other high-quality clinical services.
Responsibilities
Provides overall administrative direction to the employed physician practices associated with the medical group. Includes direct administrative support and supervision of the practice manager and office managers associated with each practice, ensures that physicians are appropriately credentialed for all managed care plans, and that billing processes and procedures are in place to maximize professional revenue. Ensures that the appropriate number and level of support staff are available to support the practice operations in each location. Works with accounting staff to develop financial reports for each practice and reviews that information with appropriate physicians.
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. College degree required, MBA or other appropriate graduate degree strongly preferred.
2. Seven to ten years' experience in the management of physician practices.
3. Experience in a multi-physician practice environment with supervisory experience of practice managers.
4. Knowledge of physician billing processes and systems.
5. Understanding of compliance issues affecting physician practice operations
