Essential Duties
Oversee the daily operation of all mortgage lending functions, including origination, processing, underwriting, loan closings, post-closing review and secondary marketing. Instill an extraordinary client focus that ensures a quality client experience, including quick turnaround to closing, with transparency, accuracy and accessibility in every step. Implement an ever-improving operating environment that focuses on operational efficiency, streamlined workflow and processes, and client-responsiveness. Build, train, lead and coach a high-performance mortgage lending team that fosters a collaborative team environment with an unwavering focus on overall bank goals and results. Take ownership and accept accountability for meeting sales goals in originations and performance metrics in support functions. Lead all mortgage division planning, including budgeting, annual business planning and developing and executing on long-term strategic plans to scale the operation. Serve as the subject matter expert for market trends, industry regulations, related policies and procedures, the competitive landscape and emerging best practices in mortgage lending. Navigate and model behaviors for the sales force with mortgage and title companies, contractors, builders, appraisers, real estate agents and other real estate and referral sources. Engage in business development activities and the solicitation of new business, while modeling expected behaviors and results for other mortgage originators.
Perform all job functions in compliance with the requirements of banking laws and regulations. Perform other duties as required by supervisory personnel.
The Right Person
7 - 10 Years Experience in a successful, high-growth bank-owned or operated mortgage lending company with demonstrated experience of increasing responsibility.
In-depth mortgage lending knowledge including sales force management, regulations, risk management, underwriting guidelines and industry best practices.
Demonstrated experience in creating successful mortgage lending business and strategic plans, recruiting, and mortgage compensation.
Exceptional Verbal and Written Communication Skills.
Exceptional Customer Service Skills.
National Mortgage Licensing System Requirements.
Extensive Knowledge/Use of Microsoft Office and other PC applications.
