Hilton Ocala is one of four Meyer Jabara properties in Florida. Our beautiful 196room hotel features six spacious event rooms and a tented outdoor event venue, attracting a diverse mix of business transient, group, social, and catered events.

Position Overview

The Director of Sales & Marketing is a senior leadership role responsible for driving total hotel revenue through strategic sales, marketing, and team leadership. This position leads all sales disciplines—including Business Transient (BTS), Group, Catering, and Banquet sales—while building strong market presence and longterm customer relationships.

The ideal candidate is an experienced hotel sales leader with a passion for selling BTS business, developing highperforming sales teams, and executing datadriven strategies that maximize RevPAR, ADR, and total revenue.


Work Schedule & Availability

(Required)
Primary schedule is weekdayfocused, with flexibility required. Must be available to support evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs dictate, including client entertainment, networking events, site visits, and live event oversight.


Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Revenue Leadership
  • Drive overall hotel sales strategy for BTS, Group, Catering, and Banquets, ensuring achievement of annual revenue goals
  • Aggressively prospect, solicit, and close Business Transient and Group accounts with a strong focus on longterm partnerships
  • Ensure sales efforts meet or exceed profit plan, RevPAR, ADR, and total revenue goals
  • Develop and execute Annual Business Plan, Monthly Action Plans, and marketing strategies in alignment with ownership and brand objectives
Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Sales & Catering Team, including hiring, training, performance management, and succession planning
  • Establish clear goals, accountability, and motivation to drive consistent results
  • Conduct regular sales meetings, oneonones, and performance reviews
Strategy, Reporting & Collaboration
  • Participate in weekly revenue strategy, marketing, and corporate calls
  • Maintain accurate forecasting, budgeting, and reporting within Delphi and other systems
  • Collaborate closely with Operations, Revenue Management, Catering, and Finance to ensure seamless execution and profitability
  • Maintain strong relationships with local businesses, Chambers of Commerce, CVBs, and community organizations
Brand & Guest Experience
  • Uphold and promote Hilton brand standards and Meyer Jabara service culture
  • Ensure a consistent, professional presence in the market and within the hotel

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of hotel sales experience, including leadership responsibility
  • Proven success driving BTS and Group revenue in a fullservice hotel environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and motivate sales teams
  • Strong negotiation, closing, and strategic planning skills
  • Advanced communication skills—verbal, written, and presentation
  • Financial acumen with ability to analyze reports and market data
  • Proficiency with Delphi, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Work Environment

Combination of office work, client meetings, market outreach, and onsite involvement. Frequent collaboration with hotel leadership, sales teams, catering, banquet, and operations departments.


Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, and move throughout the property. Occasional lifting of materials related to sales presentations or events. Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
