Responsibilities
The Director of Operations (DO) serves as primary representative for Campus Services Group (CSG) in the NY area. With a focus on growth, leading people and delivering consistent services, this position requires an individual with an entrepreneurial spirit as well as one who is resourceful, innovative, forward thinking and committed. Key success measures include Revenue Growth, Budget Performance, Customer Satisfaction, Systems Implementation, Client Loyalty and Employee Engagement. The DO responsibilities include: Sales, systems and program implementation, profit and loss for the region, operational support of account managers, client relations, contract negotiations, account retention, receivables, recruitment, hiring, training, developing, succession planning, mentoring and management of managers assigned to the region. This position consistently embodies the characteristics necessary to drive the Company's Purpose, Vision, Values, and DNA. This position requires up to 75% travel required and routine evening campus visits.

Qualifications
Business Development
  • Network with Directors of Facilities and Directors of Operations at schools/colleges to continue to grow the business.
  • Source and identity new sales opportunities as well as RFP opportunities and develop proposals and responses working closely with the contracts team on execution.

People Management and Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, engage and develop teams to maximize their contributions, including recruiting, assessing, training, coaching and managing performance to ensure that quality standards, inventory levels and customer service expectations are met.
  • Reviews Blueforce reports, approves payroll, monitors and reconciles payroll issues.
  • Develops constructive relationships with corporate support departments (finance, collections, human resources, payroll, legal, workers' compensation, etc.) to facilitate meeting needs of area of responsibility.
  • Manages in compliance with HCSG's standards of operation and policies and procedures, client contract, state, federal and local laws and within HCSG's Business Conduct Policy. Maintains all records and reports necessary to comply with HCSG, government and accrediting agency standards, regulations and codes.
  • Identifies opportunities for advancement and other developmental experiences for successful Managers as well as maintains a succession plan. Interviews, hires and orients Account Managers for facilities in area of responsibility.
  • Maintains proper staffing levels, covering for open Manager positions as necessary.

Operations
  • Oversee day to day EVS, maintenance, and grounds operations for all campuses within the region
  • Systems implementation
  • Develops policies, procedures and processes to support operations
  • Promotes process improvement and best practices at each campus within the region and shares them with the CSG Division.
  • Participates in the creation and implementation of new or modified operational programs to improve the overall quality and service provided to our clients/customers.
  • Develops programs to meet each account's unique needs as required
  • Develops and initiates action plans as necessary
  • Oversees and directs the startup of new business and ensures it complies with policies, procedures, programs and contractual agreements.

Budgetary Management:
  • Responsible for development of business plan and budget for each account in assigned geographic area.
  • Develops and attains financial goals for assigned area of responsibility.
  • Work in partnership with the Financial Services Department and their initiatives, especially the collection of out of terms balance.
  • Submits timely and accurate expense reports along with detailed supporting documentation.
  • Demonstrates responsible use of company assets, funds, equipment, technology, and credit card.

Customer Experience
  • Maintains and promotes customer service at all times to both internal and external customers.
  • Plans, organizes, and controls functions and activities of program implementation and operations of regional accounts.
  • Reviews and evaluates existing programs at each unit, and ensures compliance with corporate standards.
  • Meets with CSG senior leadership to report monthly progress of region by account.
  • Establishes and maintains client relations and customer satisfaction at a level that ensures account retention.
  • Provides leadership for start-ups, ensuring a smooth transition, communicating with the client, corporate office and the field throughout the entire start-up process.
  • Responsible for compliance with provisions of client contracts and communication of those provisions to the appropriate parties involved in proper implementation.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in management or related field preferred.
  • Extensive relevant work experience (5+ years) with a proven track record of success
  • Contract management experience in a Business and Industry or higher education or health care institution preferred, with related continuous education courses.
  • Self-starter, capable of leading, directing, and supporting a team in a diverse environment with highly developed interpersonal, analytical and communication skills.
  • Successful P&L and budgetary management; exceptional organizational and time management skills with a proven track record of growing accounts.
  • Must be able to relate professionally and positively with school staff/faculty and school administrative staff with excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation and management skills.
  • Has an entrepreneurial mindset and has successfully developed and delivered game changing initiatives which have resulted in home runs in terms of sales and profit growth.
  • Travel is as required, for account/facility visits and participation in area activities.
  • Must submit to a Motor Vehicle Check and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Skilled in motivating and supervising service personnel.
  • Must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must live in service area. No relocation costs.
