Description

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

The University Athletic Association at the University of Florida is searching for an Assistant Director to lead the creative direction, design, and production of high-impact motion graphics and animated video board content. This position oversees the motion graphics team (volunteers) and ensures all visual content aligns with brand standards while delivering engaging experiences across video boards and digital platforms.

This position requires the incumbent to be proficient with Adobe After Effects, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop; have working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro; have a strong understanding of animation principals, typography, composition, color, pacing, and visual storytelling; be able to create polished 2D motion graphics and animations; have a strong understanding of sports terminology, statistics, teams, leagues, and sports storytelling; have strong administrative, interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and customer service skills; be organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated; work independently and as part of a collaborative team; multitask effectively in a deadline-driven athletics environment; be able to take creative direction and incorporate feedback quickly; engage effectively with others of diverse cultures or backgrounds; and work a non-standard work week which will include evenings, weekends, and holidays, and overnight travel.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in appropriate area of specialization*
  • Two years of work experience in motion graphics, broadcast design, sports media, or a related field*
  • Experience creating graphics for digital, social, video, or broadcast environments
  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience designing graphics for live sports broadcasts
  • Experience creating broadcast/videoboard packages (lower thirds, score bugs, player IDs, full-screen graphics, statistical graphics, rankings and standings, matchup graphics, transitions, shower openers, promos and bumpers, etc)
  • Experience with Cinema 4D, Blendr, or other 3D software
  • Experience creating 3D sports graphics, environments, logos, and animations
  • Advanced After Effects skills (expressions, compositing, tracking, masking, and procedural animation)
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted design, animation, and creative-production tools

*An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of listed requirement.
