To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Director, Materials located in Austin, TX.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Director, Materials will be responsible for leading materials planning, procurement, inventory control, and supply chain activities to ensure the timely availability of materials while optimizing inventory, cost, and operational efficiency in a very high volume automated manufacturing environment for our healthcare business unite.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Lead material planning, purchasing, inventory control, and production support activities to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Develop and implement material strategies that improve cost, quality, delivery performance, and inventory management.
  • Partner with commodity managers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to support sourcing initiatives and capacity planning.
  • Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and drive actions to maintain optimal inventory while meeting customer requirements.
  • Establish and maintain supplier relationships to ensure material availability, quality, and cost competitiveness.
  • Track and analyze key supply chain metrics, identifying opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to materials management, planning systems, and supply chain processes.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor materials and supply chain team members to achieve operational and business objectives.
  • Collaborate directly with customers on forecasts, material requirements, delivery commitments, and issue resolution to ensure operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in materials management, supply chain, planning, procurement, or inventory management and cycle count management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, production planning, inventory control, and supply chain operations.
  • Experience managing supplier performance, sourcing initiatives, and inventory optimization strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cost reduction, process improvement, and operational excellence initiatives.
