Entry Level Inventory Control Specialist

JOB OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a dedicated and detailed-oriented individual to join our manufacturing company as an Inventory Control Specialist. Responsible for cycle counting, receiving incoming material, part identification, storage, and other related account administration. They also serve as a subject matter expert for physical inventory levels and discrepancies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDES BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Follow orders, and complete tasks as assigned by supervisor.
  • Performs day-to-day inventory activities including; receiving incoming material, cycle counts, part identification and storage.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in the system, updating quantities and locations as needed.
  • Strong communication skills to deliver technical information via email or spreadsheets.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards.
  • Follow prescribed procedures and guidelines.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities.
  • Follow all company rules and policies.
  • Follow all safety rules and quality standards.
  • Uphold all OSHA standards applicable to the responsibilities above.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous Inventory experience in a manufacturing environment or relevant field/position.
  • Previous forklift experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques involved in the effective manufacture of goods a plus.
  • Must have the ability to use and read a tape measure.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to properly identify and compile information to effectively make decisions and set priorities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Environment is not climate controlled. Limited control of heat and cooling, hot in the summers and cold in the winters.
  • Loud industrial environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Walking, standing, kneeling, bending are required up to 90% of the workday.
  • Lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50-70 pounds, up to 20% of the workday.

WORK HOURS:

  • This is a full-time position. Work week is Monday through Thursday, 10-hour shifts. Fridays will be required when production demand requires overtime.
