Director of IP Networks & OperationsDragonfly InternetBuild the network behind the experience.

Dragonfly Internet is a fast growing, fiber forward internet provider on a mission to deliver fast, reliable broadband to the communities we serve. As we scale, our network is the foundation of everything we doโ€”and building a resilient, high-performing, future-ready infrastructure is critical to our success.

Thatโ€™s where you come in.

Weโ€™re looking for a Director of IP Networks & Operations who thrives on building, leading, and evolving network environments in a fast-paced ISP setting. If you enjoy balancing big-picture strategy with hands-on technical leadership, leading high-performing teams, and creating reliable, scalable networks that just workโ€”youโ€™ll feel right at home here.

What Youโ€™ll Do

Youโ€™ll lead the strategy, performance, and evolution of our IP network and operations, ensuring reliability, scalability, and operational excellence. Day to day, youโ€™ll:

  • Lead and develop network engineering, NOC, and field operations teams
  • Define and execute Dragonflyโ€™s IP network strategy and architecture roadmap
  • Design, implement, and optimize core, edge, transport, and access networks
  • Oversee network operations, incident response, and escalation management
  • Drive network reliability, uptime, and performance across all service areas
  • Design and manage routing, peering, and transport (BGP, MPLS, EVPN/VXLAN)
  • Lead major network deployments, upgrades, and expansion initiatives
  • Implement network improvements including automation, monitoring, and IPv6
  • Establish and standardize operational procedures, best practices, and KPIs
  • Conduct root cause analysis and continuous improvement following incidents
  • Manage vendor relationships, including hardware, carriers, and transit providers
  • Lead vendor evaluations, RFPs, and technology selection decisions
  • Partner with executive leadership on network strategy, planning, and investments
  • Manage network budgets, forecasting, and infrastructure planning
What Weโ€™re Looking For
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of network engineering experience, ideally in ISP or telecom environments
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing technical teams
  • Deep expertise in IP networking technologies, including:
    • BGP, OSPF, IS-IS
    • MPLS, EVPN/VXLAN
    • IPv4 & IPv6
    • Carrier Ethernet and routing/switching platforms
  • Experience designing and operating large-scale or carrier-grade networks
  • Strong understanding of network operations, monitoring, and performance management
  • Experience leading network deployments, upgrades, or infrastructure builds
  • Proven ability to manage vendors, evaluate technologies, and drive decisions
  • A hands-on leader who can dive into technical challenges when needed
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on reliability and performance
Nice to Have
  • Experience in a regional ISP, broadband provider, or telecom environment
  • Familiarity with optical or transport networking technologies
  • Experience with network automation or scripting
  • Industry certifications (CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, JNCIE, or similar)
Why Dragonfly Internet?
  • Be part of a fast growing startup where your work has immediate impact
  • Own and shape the network strategy as we expand into new markets
  • Lead and build high-performing teams from the ground up
  • Work at the center of innovation, growth, and next-generation connectivity
  • Join a team passionate about delivering better internet to our communities

If youโ€™re excited about building and leading the network that powers everything we do, weโ€™d love to talk.
