Position Title: Director of Finance
A leading organization seeks a Director of Finance who will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of the firm. This position requires a seasoned finance professional with experience in the architectural and engineering sectors, particularly within professional services. The Director will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and managing a team, while also serving as a key collaborator across departments. The ideal candidate will possess a long-term vision for their career and be comfortable working in a dynamic environment. This role demands strong leadership qualities and the ability to navigate complex financial landscapes while fostering a culture of collaboration and transparency.
Salary Range: $150,000 - $180,000 / Year DOE
Director of Finance Responsibilities:
  • Lead the firm's budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cash flow management to mitigate risks
  • Oversee billing, accounts receivable, collections, and payroll compliance
  • Manage a team focused on accounts payable and payroll
  • Implement systems for project budgeting, costing, fee tracking, reporting, and financial analysis
  • Monitor project and firm profitability alongside key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Manage relationships with external accountants, bankers, and insurance providers
  • Coordinate tax preparation, compliance, and insurance renewals
  • Oversee architectural contracts and proposals
  • Liaise closely with partners on specific financial matters
  • Collaborate with the Finance Committee and support firm goals
  • Engage with Department Directors and Human Resources for cross-functional initiatives

Director of Finance Requirements:
  • Architectural/engineering industry experience with a focus on AEC
  • Ability to operate as the sole subject matter expert at the director level
