University Behavioral Health of Denton is a private freestanding psychiatric hospital specializing in mental health and chemical dependency care.  Serving North Texas and surrounding areas, UBH Denton has provided a range of programs treating mental health illnesses and substance abuse issues since 2005. Our inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services offer supportive and compassionate care for adolescents and adults with specialty programs that are tailored to meet the needs of our patients.

Position Summary:

The Director of Plant Operations will have oversight over both UBH and TBC (not an all-inclusive list): Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, administers and controls the operations of the Engineering, Maintenance, housekeeping, emergency preparedness, purchasing, safety, transportation, security, and Grounds departments. Fills all duties of hospital safety officer. Maintains compliance with applicable regulatory agency requirements, including; The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), State and Local agencies, The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), etc. Manages staff and contractors to adequately maintain the efficient and safe operation of all hospital buildings. Utilizes computer programs to plan, predict, maintain and repair building and equipment. Utilizes energy management and tracking tools to maintain efficient utility operations. Develops, maintains, and reviews all departmental and regulatory policies and procedures and all regulatory (Plant Operations) manuals. Maintains all required regulatory and testing documentation. Manages environmental compliance programs, permits and licenses.

Qualifications

Education: Minimum of High School Diploma and experience in a technical trade or field related to facility maintenance and engineering. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Experience: Previous supervisory experience preferred. Demonstrated leadership experience in managing a diverse labor force. Previous project management experience preferred.
Licensure:  Must have valid driver’s license.
Additional Requirements: Successful completion of CPR certification, Handle with Care and Verbal De-escalation within 30 days of employment prior to assisting in restraining procedures. May be required to work overtime and flexible hours. Ability to interact with senior leadership in a professional manner. Intermediate level computer experience. Utilizes Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems and Building Management Systems a plus. Knowledge of NFPA codes and standards, Joint Commission and CMS standards, OSHA, EPA and state and local codes and standards. Experience or working knowledge in all aspects of building trades preferred, including HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, carpentry. Previous project management experience preferred.
