Interested applicants must submit a completed City of Los Angeles Application form and a résumé (ATTN: Director Enforcement Operations TPD - Emergency Appointment) to the following email address: LAHD.PersRecUnit@lacity.org . Applications will be accepted until a sufficient number have been received.
Please note that this emergency appointment is a temporary appointment and is contingent upon approval by the City of Los Angeles' Personnel Department. The permanent appointment will be made upon the completion of the civil service examination process for Director of Enforcement Operations. The successful incumbent for this emergency appointment position will be required to take the examination and obtain a high enough score on the eligibility list in order to be selected for the permanent appointment.

Emergency Appointment
An emergency appointment is not a regular appointment. It is a temporary appointment which does not require that you successfully compete in the Civil Service examination process. The appointment may not exceed one year and must be terminated immediately when a regular appointment can be made from an eligible list. No emergency appointment can exceed one year. (City Charter Section 1013).
