General Summary

Qualcomm Technologies is seeking a bold, tech-savvy communications leader to shape and amplify the global story of Snapdragon across Mobile, Compute, and Personal AI—some of the most visible, and competitive businesses driving Qualcomm’s growth.

This role sits at the center of how Qualcomm shows up in the market: translating complex technology into compelling narratives, strengthening Snapdragon’s position as a leading platform brand, and helping business leaders influence customers, partners, media, analysts, creators, and consumers around the world. The individual will lead the strategy, planning, and execution of high-impact communications programs spanning product launches, flagship events, executive storytelling, competitive positioning, and always-on media, analyst, and influencer engagement. This leader will guide a team accountable for:

  • Building and executing long-term and near-term communications strategies that elevate Snapdragon’s role in defining the future of mobile, PC, and personal AI experiences.
  • Serving as a trusted communications advisor to senior business leaders, shaping programs that advance business priorities, strengthen reputation, and navigate fast-moving issues with confidence.
  • Driving breakthrough activations that move Snapdragon beyond product awareness and further establish it as a premium technology and culture brand.
  • Leveraging deep media, analyst, creator, and partner relationships—as well as a strong understanding of the global technology landscape—to generate proactive storytelling, strengthen launch impact, and lead competitive issue management across businesses.
  • Managing high-priority incoming media inquiries, developing sharp response strategies, and ensuring message discipline across sensitive, complex, or high-visibility topics.
  • Leading regional agency and in-house resources to deliver coordinated, measurable communications programs with global reach and local relevance.
  • Partnering cross-functionally across marketing, product management, engineering, sales, regional teams, and executives to create alignment, unlock storytelling opportunities, and represent communications plans at the highest levels.
  • Owning business unit reporting and budget management to demonstrate communications impact, inform leadership decisions, and ensure resources are focused on the highest-value opportunities.

This is an office based position located in San Diego, CA and is expected to comply with the company's onsite work policy. This is a U.S. based position and is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of Public Relations or related work experience.
  • OR
  • Associate's degree and 12+ years of Public Relations or related work experience.
  • Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, or related field.
  • 12+ years of Public Relations or related work experience in the technology space.
  • 4+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with executive leadership (e.g., Vice President level and above).
  • Experience leading press/media relations, analyst relations, and influencer relations programming
  • Experience leading global media events, media tours, product launches, etc.
  • Able to positively lead a team in fast paced dynamic environment
  • Ability to work well and influence others across the organization (marketing, engineering, product management, executives)
  • Ability to prioritize effectively across simultaneous projects

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits

$182,700.00 - $274,100.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
