Job Description:

Bowie State University seeks a dynamic and experienced Director of Development Operations to lead enterprise application development, data integration, and DevOps initiatives. This role is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and optimization of enterprise systems including Oracle, PeopleSoft, Workday, and associated databases. The Director will drive innovation in system integration, automation, and data operations to support the university's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and integration of enterprise applications and data systems across Oracle, PeopleSoft, Workday, and other platforms.

  • Oversee DevOps and DataOps functions, including CI/CD pipeline development, automation, and cloud-based architecture.

  • Manage a team of developers, analysts, and system administrators to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable solutions.

  • Collaborate with university stakeholders to gather requirements, define project scopes, and deliver high-impact technology solutions.

  • Implement and maintain robust monitoring, observability, and performance optimization strategies.

  • Develop and enforce data governance, security, and compliance standards in collaboration with the Information Security Office.

  • Drive continuous improvement through agile methodologies, innovation, and adoption of emerging technologies.

  • Manage vendor relationships, licensing, and technology procurement aligned with budgetary goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in software development, enterprise systems, or DevOps leadership.

  • Proven experience with Oracle databases, PeopleSoft, Workday, and enterprise application integration.

  • Strong understanding of APIs, middleware, and data transformation tools.

  • Experience with cloud platforms (preferably Azure), CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworks.

    Preferred Qualifications:
