Directors of Decarbonization often analyze energy use, recommend clean technologies, and work to align business operations with climate action commitments. They also track progress, report results to stakeholders, and stay updated on evolving climate policies and technologies.

A Director of Decarbonization often encounters challenges aligning different departments’ priorities, resources, and timelines with overarching sustainability goals. Effective communication and change management are essential, as not all teams may be equally familiar with decarbonization strategies or their benefits.
