Job description

About High Scale
We're High Scale-a future-focused, data-obsessed agency revolutionizing video advertising. Imagine Amazon's customer obsession combined with SpaceX's fearless innovation-that's the DNA behind everything we do.
Our team is scaling fast, producing thousands of high-impact social videos every week for the world's leading lifestyle, fashion, beauty, and DTC brands. With 50,000 sq. ft. of studio space in DTLA and a proprietary approach to AI-driven performance, we are ready to dominate 2026. We need a Director of Creative Strategy who can engineer the "why" behind every video we shoot.
Why This Role Matters
Data tells us what happened. You tell us why-and then you tell us what to shoot next.
As Director of Creative Strategy, you are the architect of our ad performance. You will lead the charge in turning raw data into high-converting creative concepts. You aren't just managing a team; you are building a creative testing engine. You will bridge the gap between our Media Buyers (who want lower CPAs) and our Production Team (who want to make cool work), ensuring every frame we shoot is optimized for conversion.
What You'll Do
1. Architect the Creative Roadmap
  • Translate client business goals into actionable "Creative Testing Roadmaps." You decide which hooks, angles, and formats we test next.
  • Lead the brainstorming process, pushing the team beyond "best practices" into "next practices."
  • Define the "Winning Formula" for each client-codifying what works so we can scale it across thousands of assets.

2. The Feedback Loop (Data to Creative)
  • Obsess over the "Creative Report Card." You will analyze Thumb-Stop Ratios, Hold Rates, and CTRs daily.
  • Translate complex performance data into simple, actionable feedback for editors and videographers (e.g., "The first 3 seconds are too slow; cut to the product demo immediately").
  • Kill losers fast. Identify creative fatigue before it kills the account and pivot the strategy instantly.

3. Team Leadership & Mentorship
  • Manage and mentor a squad of Strategists, ensuring they aren't just "order takers" but true strategic partners to their clients.
  • Build the bridge between "Math" and "Magic." Teach creative teams how to love data, and teach data teams how to respect the creative process.
  • Implement systems that allow us to produce more volume without sacrificing strategic intent.

4. Client Persuasion
  • You are the "closer" in strategy meetings. You explain why we are running a lo-fi iPhone video instead of a polished cinema ad, backing it up with irrefutable data.
  • Build trust by showing clients that our creativity is an investment, not an expense.
How You'll Be Measured (KPIs)
  • Creative Win Rate: The percentage of new creative concepts that beat the control/historical average.
  • ROAS & CPA: The ultimate truth. Did your strategy lower costs?
  • Strategic Output: Quality and clarity of weekly creative briefs.
  • Team Velocity: Ability to maintain high-quality strategic output at scale.
Who You Are
1. The "Performance Creative" Expert
  • 7+ years of experience in creative strategy, paid social strategy, or performance marketing.
  • You know that a "good idea" is only a good idea if it converts. You check your ego at the door and let the data decide.

2. A Master of the "Hook"
  • You understand human psychology. You know exactly what makes someone stop scrolling on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts.
  • You can spot a trend before it peaks and operationalize it for 10 different clients in 24 hours.

3. A Translator
  • You speak two languages fluently: "Creative" (storyboards, pacing, aesthetics) and "Performance" (attribution, lift, scale).
  • You are comfortable presenting to C-Suite executives and brainstorming with Gen Z creators.
Perks & Benefits
  • Competitive Compensation: $80,000-100,000/year.
  • High-Impact Work: Direct the creative strategy for high-spend DTC brands where your concepts drive millions in revenue.
  • Relentless Innovation: Work at the cutting edge of AI and Creative Performance.
  • Culture of Scale: Join a team that moves fast, tests constantly, and celebrates the wins.

High Scale is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We celebrate diversity and believe it's key to building teams that change the world-one breakthrough campaign at a time.
