R+L Carriers has an immediate opportunity for an Attorney - Director of Benefits Administration at our Corporate Headquarters in Wilmington, Ohio. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Human Resources, and will oversee and manage the administration of our leave of absence, insurance, and workers' compensation programs.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Administration of current benefits programs and administration of workers' compensation
  • Development of tactical and strategic benefit program compliance including local, state and national administrative procedures internal and external legal compliance form creation and maintenance, and internal, company-wide communication of processes both internally and with external vendors
  • Provide recommendations for future plan offerings and plan design changes
  • Perform financial analyses, cost estimates, and annual budget for benefits plans
  • Manage relationships and processes with all outside vendors
  • Demonstrate familiarity with federal, state and local labor laws, medical and religious accommodations, FMLA and minor labor laws on a national basis
  • Manage internal processes for FMLA, LOA, ADA within federal and state guidelines on a national basis

Minimum Requirements:

  • Hold a current Law degree (J.D.) from an accredited School of Law, preferably in a related area of expertise.
  • Be admitted to practice law in the State of Ohio and/or other states.
  • Be able to lead a human resources benefits team and facilitating internal communication and strategic thought leadership
  • Possess superior written and oral communication skills.
  • Possess strong time and project management skills and experience
  • Demonstrate a high level of organizational skills and communication skills a wide range of computer software programs.
