Job Summary

Title:ย Director of Business Development

You'll Report To:ย Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing

The Director of Business Development is responsible for leading American Integrity's Inside Sales organization, including Business Development Specialists and Inside Sales Specialists, to drive profitable premium growth through our independent agency distribution network. The Director of Business Development will develop and execute sales initiatives that strengthen agency relationships, increase production within existing partnerships, and identify new growth opportunities. The Director will foster a high-performing, data-driven sales culture through coaching, accountability, and continuous development while ensuring alignment with the company's strategic growth objectives.

Working collaboratively with Outside Sales, National Accounts, Underwriting, Product, Marketing, IT, and other internal partners, the Director of Business Development will ensure the Inside Sales team is equipped with the tools, processes, and market intelligence necessary to maximize profitable growth.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, develop, and manage the Inside Sales organization, including Business Development Specialists and Inside Sales Specialists.
  • Establish team objectives, monitor performance metrics, and ensure achievement of profitable premium growth goals.
  • Coach and develop team members through regular feedback, training, performance management, and career development planning.
  • Foster a high-performance, customer-focused culture centered on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with the Sales leadership to develop and execute sales strategies that support company growth objectives.
  • Monitor agency performance, production trends, and sales activity to identify opportunities for increased growth and profitability.
  • Utilize data and analytics to prioritize agency engagement, establish measurable objectives, and optimize team performance.
  • Collaborate with Territory Sales Managers, National Accounts, and other sales leaders to ensure a coordinated approach to agency development.
  • Support the Business Development team in strengthening existing agency relationships while identifying opportunities to expand distribution.
  • Oversee successful execution of agency book conversions/consolidation (ABC).
  • Ensure consistent communication of product updates, underwriting initiatives, competitive intelligence, and market feedback across internal business partners.
  • Partner with Product, Underwriting, Marketing, IT, Customer Care, and other departments to improve agency experience and sales effectiveness.
  • Monitor Salesforce activity, pipeline management, call quality, and reporting to ensure accurate forecasting and operational excellence.
  • Serve as Sales conduit to other departments as it relates to API connectivity for prospective, existing, and new agency connections.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.); or related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. CIC, CPCU, or other insurance designations, preferred.

Experience: Five (5) to Seven (7) years of business development, agency management, or sales experience within Property & Casualty insurance, required. Three (3) or more years of leadership experience managing sales or business development teams preferred. Experience working with independent insurance agency distribution required. Experience leading inside sales, agency development, or account management teams strongly preferred.
