THE ROLE

The Network Manager serves as a subject matter expert in data communications, designing, implementing, and maintaining related technologies. The role leads the development of network solutions, oversees deployment, and addresses technical challenges to ensure optimal performance. The Network Manager may provide guidance and oversight to a limited number of direct reports, including Engineers and Architects, fostering collaboration and development within the team to support organizational goals. The individual is directly accountable for design and troubleshooting outcomes, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and technological best practices.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Act as a key subject‑matter expert in Voice, Video, and Data Communications, maintaining deep expertise in the field and its associated technologies.
  • Ensure the efficient, secure, and reliable operation of MFS information systems by providing technical support.
  • Proactively develop and maintain expertise in MFS information systems and their components, offering recommendations to enhance reliability, scalability, performance, and security.
  • Conduct performance tuning and capacity analysis to maximize the organization’s technology investments.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes, consistently driving operational efficiency.
  • Enforce MFS Information Security controls, procedures, and standards while contributing to their development and ongoing improvement.
  • Translate broad goals and objectives from management into actionable methods, taking proactive ownership of implementation.
  • Lead complex projects, ensuring the timely achievement of objectives within defined budgets and expectations.
  • Mentor technical team members and deliver technology briefings to IT and business leadership as required.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related technical field.
  • 6–8+ years of related Information Technology experience with combined focus on LAN/WAN and remote office operations, Cisco routers/switches, network management platforms, load‑balancing platforms, patching, cross‑connect best practices, inventory control, and large data‑center network design.
  • Experience mitigating network security issues and working with other technical teams on security issues.
  • Hands‑on technical experience in network firewall technology, IDS/IPS, security technology, MS Active Directory, TCP/IP, DNS/DHCP, SASE networks, and mobile end‑user support.
  • Interface with global carriers to implement data solutions, Cisco routing/switching (NXOS, IOS) and protocols such as BGP, IPSEC, SMTP, SNMP, and OSPF.
  • VoIP operations, WAN operations, wireless networking, QoS & MPLS technologies, and cloud implementation.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills; ability to work effectively under pressure and in a 24/7 environment.
  • Strong communication, relationship building, and negotiation skills with team and senior management.
PREFFERED SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Master’s degree or equivalent.
  • Cisco certifications.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Base Salary: $110,000 – $158,500 (depending on experience and qualifications).

Other Total Rewards include a 15% retirement contribution, education assistance (up to $10,000 lifetime monthly contributions and up to $8,000 annual tuition reimbursement), generous time off and fully paid leaves (20‑weeks for maternity, 12‑weeks parental and caregiver leaves), medical and dental plans with employer HSA contribution, commuter benefits, flexible spending accounts, and wellness programs.
