Job Summary:

Vail Resorts is looking to hire a Director of Visitation Analytics. The Visitation Analytics team sits within Vail Resorts' Enterprise Analytics function under the Chief Revenue Officer and is responsible for forecasting, reporting, insight generation, and evaluation of strategic business opportunities related to skier visitation to mountains across the Vail Resorts network. The team leverages Vail Resorts' proprietary data as well as external data sources to generate insights about guest behavior and performance trends that create value for the business.

This role leads a team of 5 employees and partners closely with leaders across Finance, Marketing, and other Analytics teams to support revenue growth initiatives, steward core analytical processes, and deliver executive-ready insights. This individual should demonstrate strong business acumen, structured problem-solving, and learning agility, with the ability to deliver strong strategic thinking and team leadership.

  • Starting Wage: $150,000 - $180,000 + Annual Bonus + Equity

Job Responsibilities: 

  • [Strategic Analytics] Lead analyses to support growth strategies and key business initiatives
  • [Guest Insights] Leverage guest behavioral and transactional data, experience feedback, and research to deepen understanding of guest journeys and identify opportunities to grow visitation volumes
  • [Performance Insights & Reporting] Consistently provide rigorous ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and reporting insights for executive and business stakeholders; translate findings into actionable recommendations
  • [Data & Capability Development] Collaborate with data enablement, engineering, and other analytics partners to strengthen foundational datasets and advance analytical capabilities, including AI adoption
  • [Leadership] Lead and develop a high-performing analytics team through coaching, prioritization, and effective feedback focused on continuous improvement
  • [Partnership] Build strong cross-functional relationships to drive shared outcomes and influence decisions across the organization, especially with partners in Marketing and Finance
  • [Communication] Develop clear, concise, and compelling presentations and recommendations for senior leadership audiences

Job Requirements: 

  • 8+ years of experience in analytics, consulting, finance, strategy, or similar fields.
  • Previous experience leading and developing high-performing teams
  • Demonstrated success applying analytics to solve strategic business problems and support executive-level decision-making
  • Strong quantitative skills with experience deriving guest and business insights from large and complex datasets
  • Experience with analytical and visualization tools such as Tableau, SQL, Snowflake, Databricks, or similar
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint, with demonstrated success developing executive-ready presentations and materials
  • Demonstrated strength in written and verbal communication, adjusting messages appropriately for a variety of audiences, including senior leadership
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence across functions and outside of direct reporting relationships
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize across multiple initiatives and stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or similar graduate degree preferred

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $150,000 - $180,000 + Annual Bonus + Equity. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Vail Resorts offers a ‘Hybrid’ work environment where employees living within 50 miles of the Broomfield office work on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and have flexibility to work off-site on Mondays and Fridays.  Employees living outside of a commutable distance can work remotely from British Columbia, Washington D.C., and the 16 U.S. states* in which we currently operate.
