Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions is hiring a Deployment Network Engineer. Responsibilities may include supporting network design and deployment activities, configuring and troubleshooting network devices, developing technical documentation, implementing customer network systems, and supporting technical strategies and objectives alongside Microsoft and customer personnel. This is a direct placement role located in Springfield, Virginia. The Deployment Network Engineer is expected to have experience in network engineering, network deployment, network configuration, cloud networking, and network security. This is a great opportunity to support mission‑critical network infrastructure and deployment efforts.

Top Secret w/ SCI eligibility

Responsibilities for the Deployment Network Engineer:
  • Assist with the design, deployment, and implementation of customer network systems and infrastructure.
  • Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain network devices, including applying patches and configuration changes.
  • Support infrastructure design activities and develop technical documentation for customer systems and objectives.
  • Create and maintain network diagrams, rack elevations, and cable drawings.
  • Work with Microsoft and customer personnel to support technical strategies, network operations, and control objectives.
Required Qualifications for the Deployment Network Engineer:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience and 3-5 years of experience in network engineering.
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting network devices and working within CLI environments.
  • Experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking protocols and network design for efficiency and resiliency.
  • Understanding of cloud networking technologies, including ExpressRoute, Azure Virtual Networks, and hybrid networking environments.
  • Understanding of Layer 1 technologies, including cable management, cable types, media converters, circuits, CPE, Telco, and Demarcation.
  • Experience creating network diagrams, rack elevations, and cable drawings.
  • Understanding of network security appliances, network security methodologies, and traffic management.
  • Familiarity with WAN and routing technologies, including BGP, MPLS, and SD‑WAN.
  • Valid driver's license and passport required.
  • ~50% travel to locations outside the local area
Compensation for the Deployment Network Engineer:
  • Salary range: $120,000 - $170,000 *depending on experience*
