JOB TITLE: Network Engineer DEPARTMENT: Professional Services

FLSA STATUS: Exempt LOCATION: Arkansas or Oklahoma

DATE: July 2026 REPORTS TO: Unified Support Director

JOB SUMMARY Under the leadership of the Unified Support Director, the Network Engineer is responsible for intermediate level troubleshooting and resolution of customer hardware, software, networking and WAN systems. Positions at this level require some specialized knowledge, abilities, skills and experience and often exercise independent judgement in the performance of their duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting and configuration regarding Servers, VM Hosts, Operating Systems, routers, switches, firewalls, Wireless Access Points, Controllers, VoIP systems and other network related products as required.
  • Provide second-tier help desk services (i.e. ACL rules, NAT, VLAN, O/S configuration, password resets),
  • Perform installation, configuration, testing and documentation of systems according to design and specification while utilizing relevant best practices.
  • Troubleshooting with 3rd party vendors and/or manufacturers based on customer requirements.
  • Provide pre- and post-sales support as well as implementation and design services.
  • Perform software and firmware upgrades, remediation of customer issues and alerts, and escalation to other teams as necessary.
  • Provide input towards the ongoing development of customer network infrastructure for delivery of data, voice and other technology services.
  • Individual ticket management and communication with customers and scheduling of activities.
  • Ensuring individual SLAs are met.
  • Collaborate with team members to define, analyze, design and deliver appropriate technical solutions to meet customer business objectives.
  • Mentor junior Network Engineering staff.
  • Attend technology events as required.
  • Participate in team meetings and training.
  • Other special projects and duties as assigned by Manager.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Windows Server Environments - Active Directory User/Computer Management, Group Policy Objects, Security Policy implementation, and troubleshooting Windows Environment issues.
  • Network Infrastructure - Firewalls, Switches (including VLANs), Routing, and ability to troubleshoot network devices.
  • Microsoft 365 - User/Device Management and Administration, User/Device Onboarding, Security Configuration of M365 Services/Applications, and troubleshooting M365 issues.
  • Advanced experience and knowledge in Virtualization, Routing, M365 migrations, VoIP and Enterprise wireless are a plus.
  • Familiarity with common business metrics that drive business success.
  • Self-motivated and results driven with strong organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to effectively present information using a consultative approach.
  • Ability to travel regularly to customer locations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES AND INTERACTIONS WITH OTHERS

This position has no supervisory responsibilities. The Tier 2 Network Engineer interacts frequently with various internal team members to coordinate client success.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related field, or work experience.
  • 3-5 years' experience as a Networking Engineer
  • The following certifications, or other job experience may be substituted in lieu of degree/experience.

o Cisco CCNA/CCNP

o VMWare VCP/VCAP/VCDX

o Microsoft MCSE/MCSA/MCSD

o Extreme EDS/ECS

o CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Server+
