Superlanet is seeking an experienced Epic Training Manager for our healthcare client in Austin, Texas. This direct-hire leadership opportunity is ideal for an experienced healthcare IT education leader who is passionate about driving Epic adoption, developing enterprise training strategies, and leading organizational change across a growing academic healthcare environment.
Reporting to the Chief Medical Informatics Officer, the IT Training Manager will provide strategic leadership for the organization's Epic and healthcare technology training program. This individual will oversee training staff, curriculum development, competency programs, governance, and user readiness initiatives while partnering closely with clinical, operational, and IT leadership to ensure successful implementation and adoption of enterprise healthcare technologies.
This is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of 50% onsite presence each week in Austin, Texas. Flexibility is required to support Epic implementations, upgrades, go-lives, and other organizational initiatives.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the enterprise healthcare IT training program, including Epic and other clinical technologies.
  • Develop and execute the organization's long-term training strategy aligned with operational and clinical objectives.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop training staff while supporting future growth of the training organization.
  • Establish enterprise training governance, standards, competency programs, and quality metrics.
  • Design, oversee, and continuously improve instructor-led, virtual, and self-paced training curriculum and educational materials.
  • Develop role-based learning paths, onboarding programs, and continuing education initiatives for clinical, operational, and administrative users.
  • Partner with clinical informaticists, application analysts, operational leaders, and executive stakeholders to ensure training aligns with workflow design and organizational goals.
  • Lead training efforts for Epic implementations, upgrades, optimizations, Community Connect initiatives, and go-live activities.
  • Drive user adoption through change management strategies, communication plans, and readiness assessments.
  • Oversee Learning Management System (LMS) utilization, training documentation, competency tracking, and reporting.
  • Manage departmental budgets, resource planning, staffing priorities, and vendor relationships.
  • Monitor training effectiveness through performance metrics, user feedback, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support organizational change efforts while promoting best practices in adult learning and healthcare education.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Education, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Information Systems, Organizational Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare technology training, Epic education, healthcare IT, informatics, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum two (2) years of leadership experience managing staff, teams, projects, or training organizations.
  • Experience leading enterprise Epic education programs, implementations, upgrades, optimization initiatives, or organizational change efforts.
  • Experience developing enterprise training strategy, curriculum, competency programs, instructional materials, and user readiness initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare workflows across ambulatory care, ambulatory surgery centers, research, and academic healthcare environments.
  • Epic Certification, Accreditation, or Credential in at least one Epic application or training track.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Epic Principal Trainer designation.
  • Multiple Epic certifications or accreditations.
  • Experience leading enterprise Epic training organizations.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), instructional design, and adult learning methodologies.
  • Experience establishing enterprise training governance and competency frameworks.
  • PMP, CPHIMS, or Prosci Change Management certification.
  • Experience supporting healthcare technology transformations within academic medical centers or integrated healthcare systems.

Benefits
Salary based on experience and qualifications $105,000 - $130,000 +
