Position Summary

The Legal Assistant role provides administrative, litigation, and case management support to attorneys representing insurance companies, insured clients, and self‑insured organizations. This role requires strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast‑paced, defense‑oriented legal environment.

Required Qualifications
• Education: Associate’s degree or paralegal certificate preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Experience: 1–3+ years as a civil litigation legal assistant; familiarity with defense litigation strongly preferred.
• Court Procedures: Knowledge of e‑filing and service‑of‑process requirements in both state and federal courts.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, case‑management systems, and e‑filing platforms.
• Key Competencies: Strong writing, organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
• Legal Knowledge: Understanding of legal terminology, pleadings, and digital document management.
• Litigation Support: Solid grasp of litigation cycles and civil procedure rules.
Litigation Support Job Duties
• Maintain comprehensive case calendars, including court deadlines, hearings, depositions, and attorney schedules.
• Organize, index, and manage electronic case files to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
• Monitor litigation timelines, discovery deadlines, and compliance requirements.
• Coordinate and schedule depositions, mediations, and meetings.
• Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
• Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
• Process and route incoming mail; maintain and organize digital records.
• Provide general office support, including answering and directing phone calls.
