Job description

Description:

  • Provides leadership and support for all nursing and designated patient care functions within the hospital.
  • Assists in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practice across multiple units.
  • Holds 24/7 responsibility for the Director's assigned areas.
  • Supports the CNO in ensuring high-quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care.
  • Ensures competency of clinical staff and effective resource management related to patient care.
  • Position is within a Level I Trauma Center.
  • Emergency Department volume: approximately 27,300 visits per year.
  • ED includes 2 trauma bays and a total of 38 beds.
  • Average trauma load: 8-15 traumas per day.
  • Responsible for overall operations of the Emergency Department.
  • Oversight of approximately 60 employees.
  • Nursing staff are represented by the NNOC union.
  • Requires highly effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate proven leadership ability and strong hospital operational knowledge.
  • Expected to serve as a role model and advocate for the professional discipline of nursing.
Requirements:
  • Required: Associate degree from an accredited nursing school with a bachelor's degree in a health care related field or a BSN.
  • Preferred: MSN or master's in a health care related field.
  • Required: 2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital environment as a manager or full-time charge nurse/related position.
  • Required: Currently licensed in the state of residence/practice, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy; CPR.
Compensation
  • USD $97,988 to $150,000
