Job description

Primary Function: Lead and motivate, in all efforts for safety, production, quality control, schedule, budget adherence, and daily on-site activities associated with masonry. Serves as an area superintendent on a large project or as the lead superintendent on a small to medium project.
Responsibilities:
  1. Develops the overall construction plans for the masonry elements of a project in conjunction with the GC team.
  2. Reads and interprets plans and specifications from the Architect/Engineer and can communicate these to others.
  3. Oversees masonry aspects of construction to ensure compliance with the scope, quality, and building codes as established by the contract documents.
  4. Reads, implements, and effectively adjusts project schedules for project conditions.
  5. Applies Quality Control Practices.
  6. Identifies pre-mobilization activities in conjunction with the project team and GC team.
  7. Conducts inspections and audits of masonry activities and processes.
  8. Attends, mobilization, coordination, and closeout meetings.
  9. Directs M. B. Kahn personnel and subcontractors by scheduling and sequencing the day to day activities of work.
  10. Manages tool and equipment utilization for the project to ensure our resources are used efficiently.
  11. Leads weekly Safety Meeting for Masonry Team.
  12. Mentors Assistant Superintendents, Foremen, and others assigned to the project.
  13. Performs reviews of direct report personnel.
  14. Produces accurate Project Daily reports for areas assigned.
  15. Ability to forecast labor and material needs for the project or area assigned.
  16. Participates in the presentation of an RFP when required.
  17. Promotes and maintains positive relationships with the Owner/Architect/Engineer/General Contractor. .
  18. Works with Project Manager/Project Engineer to manage subcontractors and suppliers.
  19. Proactively anticipates and solves problems that could delay construction.
  20. Identifies, nurtures, and solicits future business opportunities for M. B. Kahn.
  21. Maintains assigned company assets.
  22. Assists Project Manager in development and periodic updates of project schedule for areas assigned.
  23. Implements and adheres to M. B. Kahn's Safety Program, OSHA guidelines, and Company policies, procedures, and standards.
  24. Promotes integrity, honesty, hard work, safety, and quality throughout all aspects of the project and is a professional representative of M. B. Kahn.
  25. Performs additional assignments as directed by management or as required for successful project completion.

Required Certification/Training
  • Completed OSHA 30 Hour Course for Construction
  • Current First Aid Certification

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Proficient in all aspects of Assistant Masonry Superintendent.
  • Proficient in computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
  • Understands navigation and use of project management software or similar software.
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to lead an onsite team.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
