Job description

ROLE:

The Market Data Solutions Specialist will play a critical role in managing and optimizing Point72's market data ecosystem, serving as the primary bridge between external data providers, internal stakeholders, and technical teams. This individual will ensure that market data feeds, licensing, and policies are aligned with the firm's trading and investment objectives, while maintaining strict adherence to governance and compliance standards.

The ideal candidate will combine strong relationship management skills, operational discipline, technical proficiency, and strategic vision to ensure that Point72's market data environment supports global investment activities effectively and efficiently.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Build and Manage External Relationships: Build and maintain strong partnerships with exchanges, vendors, and feed providers; negotiate favorable agreements; and monitor changes in service, policy, and product offerings.
  • Enhance Internal Collaboration: Partner closely with Investment Teams, Compliance, Legal, Finance, and Technology to manage day-to-day market data requests, operational processes, and governance adherence. Identify and communicate the impact of exchange and vendor changes on trading workflows, infrastructure, and data strategy.
  • Oversee Operations & Compliance: Administer market data feed permissions, manage exchange audits, and ensure the firm's data access and usage is compliant with licensing agreements; monitor and analyze data notifications and policy changes to maintain operational readiness and governance.
  • Drive Technical Implementation: Collaborate with Technology teams to collaborate testing and integration of real-time data feeds; lead cross-functional projects to improve data infrastructure, efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide Strategic Insights & Governance: Monitor industry trends, risks, and opportunities; contribute to the firm's market data strategy; and ensure compliance with evolving data governance policies.

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in finance, economics, computer science, business, or related field (with a strong academic record).
  • 4+ years of experience in market data management within a financial services or trading environment.
  • Strong understanding of exchange data licensing, entitlements, and governance policies.
  • Proven ability to negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships.
  • Familiarity with market data platforms, feed technologies, and integration processes.
  • Knowledge of global trading markets and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent relationship management and communication skills for both external partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate issues and propose solutions.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to track policy changes and ensure operational compliance.
  • Project management skills, including leading cross-functional initiatives and meeting deadlines.
  • Technical proficiency to work with technology teams on feed configuration, data integration, and system optimization.
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic trading environment.
  • Collaborative mindset with the capability to bridge communication between technical and non-technical teams.
