Job description

Piper Maddox is partnered with a leading company in the renewable energy space that is looking to bring on an HSE Director to own the HSE management system and lead safety strategy across both RNG and Oil & Gas projects.


This person will be responsible for building and overseeing HSE policies, programs, training, and risk management processes across new projects and operating facilities. The ideal candidate will be able to recognize and eliminate potential hazards during the design and engineering phase, support strong safety performance at active sites, and represent a credible safety culture to customers, regulators, and internal teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the company’s HSE policies, programs, SOPs, and overall management system.
  • Build and manage the training curriculum, including oversight of the learning management system.
  • Own the risk register and lead the process for PHA, HAZOP, and Management of Change activities.
  • Define key HSE metrics and report performance updates to ownership and leadership.
  • Manage the company’s regulatory strategy across OSHA, EPA, PHMSA 192/195, PSM/RMP, and state air and water permitting requirements.
  • Ability to manage direct reports.


Qualifications

  • 10+ years of HSE leadership experience within Oil & Gas, midstream, RNG, or other process-based industries.
  • CSP, ASP, or similar safety certification preferred; CIH is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of PSM/RMP, Process Hazard Analysis, and PHMSA 192/195 requirements.
  • Proven experience building HSE programs from the ground up within a similar organization.
