Logistics Coordinator

We're looking for a Logistics Coordinator to work onsite in Montana who will play a key role in managing transportation operations across multiple manufacturing locations in the U.S. and Canada.

What You'll Do as a Logistics Coordinator Transportation & Carrier Management
  • Coordinate truckload, LTL, and rail transportation activities to ensure customer expectations are met safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.
  • Assist with freight bidding processes and provide carrier performance feedback.
  • Evaluate new carrier opportunities and make recommendations based on service, capabilities, and qualifications.
  • Maintain transportation contracts, carrier rates, and related documentation.
  • Coordinate LTL shipments and obtain freight quotes as needed.
  • Monitor freight movements and proactively resolve service issues.
  • Communicate with carriers regarding loading schedules, delivery appointments, and shipment status updates.
  • Assist with equipment movements and customs-related transportation activities.
  • Support carrier relationship management and participate in service review discussions.
Transportation Analytics & Process Improvement
  • Analyze transportation spending and research cost variances and billing discrepancies.
  • Investigate freight-related charges and resolve payment issues.
  • Maintain transportation dashboards, metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Track carrier performance, including on-time pickup and delivery metrics.
  • Collaborate with transportation management system (TMS) providers to improve efficiency and maximize system capabilities.
  • Support transportation budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Assist with transportation claims, damage investigations, and corrective actions.
Systems & Administrative Support
  • Maintain carrier records, insurance certificates, contracts, and compliance documentation.
  • Manage carrier setup and onboarding activities.
  • Update transportation rates and data within ERP and transportation management systems.
  • Support reporting and analytics initiatives to improve operational visibility.
  • Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide backup support for critical supply chain functions as needed.

What We're Looking For in a Logistics Coordinator Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in truckload and LTL transportation logistics.
  • Strong understanding of freight coordination and carrier management.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
