Position Description:

The Product Specialist will oversee and direct Product Management activities for theSpecialty Balland PlugValve product portfolios. She/he will take ownership of the respective products andwill drivespecific productstrategyand tactical actions.

The Product Specialist will becustomer facingand will ensure alignment between global product strategy and market needs, will be linked to financialtargetsand will drive product commercialization by enhancing value proposition.

Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Implement global product strategies and develop product roadmaps in alignment with the Global Product Manager
  • Provide strategic direction and take ownership of cross-functional initiatives
  • Create strategic cross functional collaboration with Sales, Operations, Engineering
  • Conduct Voice of Customer (VOC) and Customer product meetings
  • Bring new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; support return-on-investment analysis;establishingtime schedules with engineering and manufacturing
  • Collaborate with R&D project manager and engineering leaders, ensuring deliverablescompletionand removing barriers
  • Support product commercialization of the portfolio globally
  • Drive product globalization activities, including supply chain and manufacturing localization to support the global business
  • Introduce and market new products by developing time-integrated plans with sales, advertising, and production
  • Forecast,refineand track product financials for the region andtake actions to alignthem to the product budget
  • Serve as key information source for marketing, product development, and other decision makers in the organization
  • Provide information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product sales forecasts and special reports and analysis.
  • Assess product market data:
  • Call on customers with field sales and evaluating sales call results
  • Assess competitive landscape
  • Use strategic market knowledge tools
  • Support product pricing, review productionvolumeand sales costs
  • Collaborate with Marketing on defining and creating all needed product literature and documentation including web site content and social media campaigns.
  • Periodically visits (with Regional Sales) customer sites toestablishand maintain relationships with key customercontactsthusmaintaininga deep technical intimacy with all aspects of the product and its application.
  • Assistin all necessary training in local region, subregion: customers, engineering, repair centers, sales force, field service etc. Coordinates with the Educational Services Group asrequired. Provide tacticalsales supportas necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Product, sales,applicationsand/or engineering experience in a related field involving highly engineered specialty products in a global market setting.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to assemble and manage cross functional teams.
  • Goodverbal and written presentation and communication skills.
  • Expected 25-40% travel isrequired.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Engineeringand minimum 5 years of experience ideally in Product Management, Operations,Salesor Project Management
